Chapter 1 The dead Nightguard

*Sign* Well 2 years, 6 Months, 2 weeks and 9hours since my husband passed away, but who is counting? Well maybe me..

I work as a Priest at A Catholic Church, and mostly spend time at the church..

Words after words, People Happy, crying, sad. Some of them getting married, someone in a funeral or some people, depends on who has died. If it’s a family member or a friend..

I’ve only been to one, My husband’s death. You know it’s crazy how he died like I-

-Priest There is an upcoming Wedding again, and we need you for that one. Said one of the sisters that burst in my office.

-Yes, I’ll take that. I said in a mild tone

And she bowed and said

-Thank you Soo Much Priest. And she left after that.

I looked at my clock and saw it was almost lunch time Soo I went to where we all ate our food. In the Cafeteria.

While I was taking food on my Plate, I heard the sisters whisper about last night on the church

-Did you hear what happened last night at the Church? The sisters whispered to each other

-Yeah, it must have been a demon!

-Pff, like a demon will hunt this Church

-Yeah... all the sisters said and stopped talking about it

I looked at the table they sat at and grabbed last of the food I was getting and walked to their table and sat down at the space no one sat there

-Hey! How are y’all?

The sisters looked away

-We are good! Have you been offered to-. One of the sisters said but the other sister that sat beside her covered up her mouth before she could say anything else.

-Offered what? I asked and looked confused at them

And right when she was going to say something the slight evil one I’ll call, said

-Nothing, it’s not even important..

I nodded and looked down

After lunch one of the sisters came up to me

-Hey, sorry I was going to ask if the daily manager had asked you if you wanted to be the nightguard for one night-

-and no one wants either after what happened last night..

I looked confused at her and asked

-What happened last night?

She looked down at the ground and then up to my eyes again and she said with a shaky voice at first

-Well… Last night.. The nightguard was on shift a-and.. the others found him dead this morning..-

-and you’re the only one that have to take the nightshift this night..

I was shocked, and right then she handed me over a red rosary with a golden cross

-Here, take this red rosary. It will protect you of whatever demonic creature that can be here.

I took the rosary in my hands and put it in my pocket

-Thank you so much. I said while shaking both of her hands

-No problem at all and remember to make the rosary work you have to pray with it.

I smiled and nodded at her

-508 Words.

Biva: Quite good for a novella. Impressive writing style and we'll edited. Just one thing- Karla keeps referring herself to a stray cat and while at first it makes sense the analogy gets stale after a while.

Gallandro7: Theoretically this is a trilogy, but this was a perfect solo story. I truly wish it had ended before it became too much. That's a personal opinion. The first book was amazing. It covered a familiar trope among shifter stories, but had just enough of a difference to it to make it unique. The FMC was m...
