Chapter 1
(Hayleigh POV)
Today was like any other day as I open Philomena boutique de mode, but today I’m planning to celebrate the store’s five-year anniversary. I wanted this anniversary to be the best one yet. I decide this year that Bianca and I will be holding a fashion show to not only show off our new designs, but also some other designers that needs a little help getting their names out there as well. It’ll be taking place within four months, and I still have so much to plan as well as getting the new designs that I’m working on done before the show. There are going to be four fashion designers besides myself, so each of us are design about 20 outfits a piece for the show. There will be me, Bianca Dartagnan, Samantha Radamés, Magnus Abhilash, and Tatsu Ryoto that will be designing their style of clothing.
“Hey Hays? Are you here?”
“Yeah Bianca, I’m finishing up on work that I need done for the fashion show.”
“So, what else do you need to do?”
“I’m going to need to get a hold of the models to make sure they are free for the fashion show.”
“That’s not like you to put things off this long. What’s upsetting you?”
She’s right, I’m usually the first to have things done before all five of us. Sadly, in the last two weeks I’ve been getting calls from a guy name Sephiroth Daemyn who’s been trying to get me to meet him and Marius Drayce to talk about my business. I’m not sure what they want with my business and a large part of don’t want to know. That guy Marius Drayce is only about buying out business to either control them or take them completely apart and I’m not letting him do either to mine for I worked too hard to get this place to where it is. Also, I’ve been busy taking care of a small white puppy. I never took care of an animal before because my stepfather wouldn’t let me have one. He seemed to really to hate animals for some reason, or better to say that it’s the animals that seems not to like him.
“Hays? Are you even listening to me? By the way, Diana still not eating.”
“We might have to take her to a vet, or I can ask Rami. He’s always been good with animals and might tell us what we’re doing wrong.”
Speaking of the devil, he walks into the backroom to join us.
“Look what the cat dragged in.”
“Ha, ha very funny.”
“So, what brings you here so early?”
“I wanted to do less modeling and more of the being the one taking pictures at the show. By the way, have I told you how beautiful you look today.”
He comes over to me giving me a hug and a kiss on my cheek, but it always feel like a brother if I was ever close to my brother. Well, Azazel is only my half-brother. My father died when I was only 2 years old. My mother remarried and had a son and daughter with her new husband. When I was old enough, I was sent to a boarding school in France and that’s when I gotten into clothing design. I went to International School of Paris where I met Rami when we were 13 years old, and we did try to date but a few months later we realize that we’re better off just friends. The day we broke up he went out got drunk and he had a one-night stand with one of the models that he worked with. After I’ve seen him dating some girls, but they never seemed to last for more than a week.
“Ok, now your just kissing up to me, but alright. I know that you’ll model at least one of my outfits”
“Come on Hays!”
“Please Rami, just one of my outfits? You know you love me enough to do this for me.”
“Alright Hays, I’ll do it, but only one.”
I ran over to him and wrapped my arms around for the biggest hug. I also kissed his cheek as he turns red. It wasn’t too hard to reach my lips to his face since I’m only 2 inches shorter than him.
“So, I’m guessing that you already have it done.”
“Of course, it was the first one I started on. Come on, I know you’re going to love it.”
I was so excited to show him what I got done for him, and I really think this outfit will really show off just how sexy he can be even with that baby face. I walked over to the mannequin to show him the outfit. It’s a white button up shirt that only button up so far so some of the chest shows, a gray vest with a black leather vest on top of it, Black leather pants and a large buckle to go with it. I watched him closely to see the reaction on his face and I can tell by the look on his face that he loves it, but I know he won’t admit it to me.
“So, what do you think?”
“I love it. Hey, what do you have planned for tonight?”
“Well, Bianca and I are planning to do a marathon of Shadow hunters. There also be pizza and red wine. Would you like to join us?”
“What kind of pizza?”
“Well of course I’ll be having meats lover.”
“Deep dish?”
“Well of course, silly. Also, I need a favor from you.”
“Count me in than. What can I do for you?”
“Bianca and I found a small white puppy on the way home the other day, but we can’t get her to eat.”
“How old do you think she might be? She might be too young to take solid food yet.”
“I’m not sure.”
“Let me see her, and I’ll let you know.”
“Thanks, you’re the best.”
“Yes I am.”
I just stuck my tongue out at him as he smiles at me. I finished up early for so we can get back to our place to set up pizza marathon night. As soon as we get home, I order the two extra-large deep-dish pizza, one with mushroom, spinach, sun dried tomatoes and the other with every meat they had there. I then went to look for Diana who I found sleeping on my bed. I looked over to the floor where I left her food, and she still wasn’t eating, and I was getting worried. I hurried to get my pj’s on as I pick her up and head down stair. When I get downstairs to see that Rami already wearing his black sweats and no shirt. They were already digging into the pizza not even bothering to wait for me. I clear my throat to get their attention, and when they both looked over that when Rami eyes hits on Diana that his eyes widen.
“Hays, that’s not a puppy. It’s a wolf.”
“She’s a wolf?”
“Yes, and what have you been trying to feed her?”
“Puppy chow.”
“Puppy chow for a wolf?”
He started to laugh so hard that he fell to the floor, still laughing like an idiot. He takes his phone out for some reason as he types away.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m ordering from door dash, so I can get the little girl some raw meat. I also feel it be best if I take her home with me. I took the next few weeks off for some R&R.”
After the door dash got here with the meat, and sure enough she started eating right away. We all started to watch the show as lay my feet across Rami lap, and Diana lays on mine. For some reason this makes me feel like a small family even though she isn’t a human girl. I giggle as he tickles my toes, and we go back to watching the show. As we finish the first season, that’s when I realized that Bianca was already sleeping on the coach, but Rami and I were still wide awake.
“She could never hold her drinks like you do Rami.”
“Yeah, I am the best at everything.’
“Yeah, you are.”
I lay my head on his lap and as I look up to see that scare across his chest up to his left shoulder. He has never told me how he really gotten that. I traced the scare with my fingertips to his shoulder, but I can tell he doesn’t like me doing that.
“Come on Rami, tell me how you got this across your chest.”
“Ok Hays, it’s time for you to go to bed, and bring our baby with you.”
“But I don’t want to go to bed now. Yeah, she is our baby now.”
He just laughs as he gets up to lift me from the coach.
“Are you going to be staying in my bed tonight?”
That got me another laugh.
“Yes, don’t I always. Also, what kind father would I be if abandon my own pup.”
He carries me to my bed as he lays behind me pulling me to his chest. Yeah, if other seen us right now that they would think that we were lovers, but I know that would never be us. Diana slept on the pillow above us. Both of us came from broken homes. When father died just to have my mom remarry another man not to long after and both his parents died when he was twelve years old just to have his older brother Septimus to take care of him, and his brother Damarion. So, we both became codependent on each other, and I could never see my life without him.
