TWO YEARS AGO: NYC
Theodore Kairos was never a man to lose his cool. Not even when he lost 10 millions to his rival few days back.
His jaw ticked and he flipped the table infront of him in his expensive office room, breaking things in process.
Control, he told himself. And control was slipping.
'No, never' he gritted his teeth trying to control the storm thats about to destroy things coming its way.
'But son we have all the evidence.' Anna Kairos emphasised looking back at his son.
'No, it must be a mistake, she loves me and will never do that' he argued back frantically. The storm at the edge. His own breath hurting him. Eyes filled with unshed tears. Who says men don't cry. They cry when they see their life slipping away. Losing Bia Anneliese Kairos was like losing himself.
'Then what about these' Anna threw the pictures at his son losing her temper.
She held her head with one hand. It was impossible to make his son understand that his wife was a cheating golddigger. He had to understand that. He must.
'See son your wife was always a golddigger and a whore-'
'Enough' he said bending down picking up a picture of her wife in the arms of his soul enemy. And the strom finally crushed the world of his trust.
He growled crushing the picture in his hand. Blinded by rage he left the office.
He started his SUV dialling a number. At first ring the person answered.
'Uncle?!' He barked.
'Its true son. She has 5 millions in her personal bank account. I checked everything to make sure.' His uncle Jerry informed him grief stricken.
'So she really helped Larry with the information and got half shares.' He gritted out.
'And the affair' His uncle added. To which he just cut the call. He can bear the golddigger thing, can even forgive her, but not the cheating on him thing. How will he save her from his own warth. His grip on the steering wheel tightened. God save her.
It only took him twenty minutes to reach home. Twenty awful minutes of his life. With each step towards the entrance he felt more numb. Would he kill her?.
Bitterness trembled through him as he entered the house drowning in the aroma of his favourite food. She was cooking his favourite food. She was having one of her mood swings and yet he had instructed her to rest because her present state. But she would never listen to him. His fists clenched at his sides.
He had to talk to her first. He couldn’t bring himself to believe that his innocent little wife can stoop down to that level. She was too innocent for this world but then again maybe he had misjudged her.
'Bia' He roared. His voice booming throughout the house looking for the reason of all the craziness he was feeling. She had truly driven him mad.
'Bia' His voice again boomed and he heard something breaking in the kitchen. Cursing under his breath he walked towards the kitchen himself.
'Theo' She greeted him confused as he stopped at the kitchen entrance. One look at his grumpy face and she knew something was wrong. Maybe he was angry because she was not resting. He was quiet as a statue just standing there watching her.
'I prepared your favourite lunch' She said showing her beautiful smile that had always melted his heart away even after one year into the marriage.
She knew about the crisis his company was going through and it was only fair if she try to help ease his mood.
'Shut up' he watched as her delicate body stilled at his rude remark.
'Theo?' Maybe she heard him wrong. Was he that much angry at her?. She gulped almost chocking. He was hot even when he was angry. His hair a beautiful black disaster with his loosened grey tie accompanying black suit shirt. He had his sleeves rolled up. Such an handsome man he was. She could never stay angry at him when he looked that fine.
'Did you met him or not?' He gritted murderously . At that moment she had a sense of coming disaster about to wreck her life. No, he would forgive her.
'Theo, I am sorry.' He kept quiet just looking at her now with blank expressions.
'This was not the way i wanted you to find out I couldn't stop myself from-' she stopped abruptly as he threw the nearest vase against the wall opposite to them.
'HOW DARE YOU!'
'What else did you do huh? He said as raw waves of aggression came out of him touching her soul. And her form trembled in fear. She was never scared of him before but he was never this much aggressive towards her.
She opened her mouth to say something but she whimpered at this next sentence.
'Don't you fucking dare say my name' he shouted at last. She didn't know he would be this much angry with her. But she only wanted to help him. Larry had told her if she gave him her property in Venice he would withdraw his deal and that would save Theo's business deal which Larry stole.
'Theo, I am sorry I- I had no idea-' she stuttered between sobs.
'How shameless are you, sleeping with other man, when you are eight months pregnant with my child' he yelled finally lose it all.
She took few steps back shocked. Her brain stopped working. Did she hear him right? Theo would never say that to her.
'Or is it even my child?' He was spitting venom at her. She gripped the kitchen counter, her legs numb.
'Enough' she cried out as though she was speaking for the first time in years.
'Don't use that tone with me when I am finally able to see what type of woman you really are, we are over'. He hissed back at her. He was always possessive of her. And the thought of an other man even looking her way was enough to burn him.
But what happened next, he was never ready for.
His pale wife fell on the floor clutching her stomach. And thats when the real hell broke.
He leaped towards her forgotten was the betrayal. He picked her crying form in his arms sending a prayer to God.
She screamed in pain and his heart leaped out. No, he couldn't see her in pain. Never can see her in pain. Her trembling arms wrapped around his neck seaking relief she could only find with him. Fuck the affair, he was too much in love with her, stupid in love.
