Chapter 1
The day has gone by. Midnight is approaching swiftly but by no means is the common room of Grade 12 silent .Rife with gossip, all the girls are gathered and no one looks ready to psy-port to their homes. Manna has been getting messages on messages from her zawaj Yush'a but she does her best to ignore them. Many others seem to be doing the same. The excitement is too much to pass on and the need for information pressing.
Manna is now sure from what she has heard that the situation has worsened . The toll has risen from 200 in 2 months to 300 in 3 days. Girls and boys of age 10-24 have been disappearing in and around Madyan. But the disappearance's are not normal. The signs they leave behind indicate that their departure was not a case of fanciful running away or hiding. It is instead by the accounts of the eye witnesses a horror story come to life- unimaginable and obsolete. The search conducted by the S-investigating teams give weird results. Time seems to stop for them during their search and the searchers seem to be getting hallucinations every other minute. Searchers come back slightly unscrewed about their brains. The disappearances also have an unusual pattern. Girls and boys who have been zwajed tend to disappear when their zawaj's are not around. Others at random places disappear only during the night . The city council has advised people to follow certain precautions .People are reminded that prayers are the best shields and going anywhere alone is absolutely not recommended.
The facts are eerie and the reality more creepy. It is now past 12:30 and Manna knows that by now Yush'a must have reached the dorm-home. The boys always have less information in their hands than the girls to gossip about. A girl is now telling a story of her cousin who diappeared 2 months ago. Maulana and Ustaza have indicated that is the work of another species.
The Academy's dorm-home are at the northmost point of the Bayram Cliff, a journey that takes almost 6 psy-p minutes.
