Chapter 1 - The Job Advert
I didn’t want to get out of bed because I had been experiencing an erotic dream. I felt very relaxed all over my body. I gently opened my eyes and surveyed my bedroom.
Once I had become alert the smells of last nights party. I had no idea how much alcohol I had consumed the previous night. I felt nauseated because of the foul alcohol odour that was coming from every part of my tongue.
I quickly entered the bathroom after getting up to puke in the sink. I turned on the cold water and let it run for about a minute. As soon as the water began to warm up, I washed my face.
I looked at the glass mirror and saw how the make-up I wore last night had run down my face leaving patches of black areas on my face. The only thing that looked fine was my red lips.
I took off my night dress and walked into the shower turn, the handle and waited a few minutes for the water to get hot. In merely a few minutes, the bathroom was full of steam everywhere. I slowly got under-dressed and stepped under the shower letting the hot water run down my body. The relaxed feeling of the hot water allowed me to forget last night and start planning what I would do today.
My life as a student ended last night. Today I had to find a job which was suitable for me. I still didn’t have any career that I was sure to do yet. I was thinking about a short-term job. The job would need to be easy to do while doing this job. I could consider my future career options.
After my refreshing shower, I draped a bathrobe around me, the fabric engulfing me in its embrace.
The delightful sensation of the plush bathrobe grazing against my skin was a thrilling experience to savor.
I sauntered into the warm embrace of the kitchen, the early morning light casting a serene glow on the countertops. The familiar aroma of brewing coffee filled the air, a comforting reminder of the start of a new day. I reached for the loaf of crusty brown bread, slicing it expertly into even pieces. The spread of the lush, ruby-red strawberry jam was a pleasing contrast against the wholesome brown of the bread, its sweet scent making my taste buds awaken in anticipation. Finally, I poured myself a steaming mug of inky-black coffee, its robust aroma promising a much-needed jolt of energy. In a matter of minutes, a simple, yet satisfying breakfast was ready, a perfect start to the day.
I looked out of the window and saw the sun rising into the sky.
It was still early, so not many people or cars were out on the streets. Living in the city, I was used to the noise of police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks rushing around. But I really didn't like the sound of their sirens all the time.
While I was eating my breakfast I powered up my iPad and started to surf the internet searching for suitable jobs I could do.
I opened many website links and found jobs that required too many skills or long hours stuck in an office doing boring work.
When I saw the advertisement, I was prepared to quit. But then I saw the position is labelled as requiring a babysitter.
Well, this was a task I could complete.
I learned that the position was located outside of the city by reading the ad’s description.
I emailed the guy to ask for further details about the position.
I was given all the information about what was necessary to complete this project in a matter of seconds.
