Chapter 1
Empire Qi looked over the scrolls in front of him. One scroll was about one of his noble water dragon advisers daughter named Vive. The other scroll held information about the phoenix Empire Clay daughter Moore. Two brides for his two sons and know to decide who should marry who. Lady Vivi was know to both first prince Blade and second prince Ky. Princess Moore was largely unknown to even himself. He know a decision had to be made and he know that how the couples preformed together would help him decide his heir.
Two weeks later a decision was made and Empire Qi called for his sons. As was normal for his sons Prince Blade marched in his long red hair flying after him with his red eyes blazing. Only six months older then his brother he was more muscular and taller then his brother. Graceful Prince Ky glided in so gently his white hair barely moved as his sharp cold ice blue eyes took in everything. Prince Ky was beautiful as his brother was handsome and many people where under the impression that Prince Ky’s beauty was all he had to offer.
As his sons stood before him in his back chambers Empire Qi wondered how his decision would play with his sons.
“I have made a decision on your brides and bond days.” Empire Qi announced with no hesitation. Neither one of his sons blinked or said a word. They were both used to how their father handled business and this their brides and bonding was indeed business. The Empire continued not expecting a response. “ Blade you will bond with Lady Vivi in one week and Ky you will bond with Princess Moore in two weeks time. Ky the Princess will be here three days before your bonding ceremony so that you two can talk since you have never meet before. Your both dismissed to start making preparations.” Empire Qi said then watched as his sons bowed and left. He had never been able to read Ky’s face or body language so he had no insight to Ky’s feeling or thoughts. Blade on the other hand thought they may not be clear to everyone Empire Qi know that Prince Blade was sure he got the upper hand in this decision.
Prince Blade walked as far as the main palace courtyard before he allowed himself to turn and face his brother.
Prince Ky stopped unsurprised and undisturbed as his brother turned to speak to him.
“Well little brother I’m sorry for you though I’m glad for my own luck. Lady Vivi is well know to our house and through out the land as charming and beautiful. The only things rumored about Princess Moore is that she is plain looking with a brute warrior nature.” Prince Blade said not keeping a mocking tone from his voice. Though he didn’t get any satisfaction from his brothers normal blank reactions.
Prince Ky had heard the same rumors and they hadn’t concerned him then or now. His father wasn’t a fool the Princess had to have some benefit to the family or she would not have been considered. This was all business and he would play it to his advantage. “ Brother, thanks for your concern but I will make the best of that ever maybe.” Ky said then bowed and walked the south court where he lived and had now to prepare for a bride and bonding.
A week pasted and the bonding ceremony between Prince Blade and Lady Vivi was held in splendor and to the happy celebration of the whole clan. Though the one yet to come was even more looked forward to it for different reasons. Many people from multiple clans anticipated the cold reaction of the prince and the entertaining view of a cold beauty bonding with a plan boorish princess.
Three days till Prince Ky’s bonding and he was called to on of his father’s chambers in the main palace. When he entered the chamber no else was within. A table in the center was set for tea. Prince Ky sat in the seat facing the door to the chamber. Not long after a woman came through the door. Ky know this was Princess Moore and started to make the comparisons he know many others would make to Lady Vivi. Where Lady Vivi was about 5’6 with long blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes and glided every where she with a light body. Princess Moore didn’t glide she didn’t march either but walked with a confidence that would be comparable to a man’s walk. She was 5’0 barely and had a wiry strong build med length dark brown hair and mahogany brown eyes.
Princess Moore was aware she was being assessed but since she was doing the same thing herself she didn’t mind it. She sat on the Princes’ left side. From what she could see the prince was living up to the rumors.
“Prince Ky, I am Princess Moore of the phoenix clan.” Princess Moore said with a slight incline of her head.
Prince Ky bowed his head before speaking. “ We are to be bonded in three days. I don’t have any expectations for how this bonding will work and honestly as long as you don’t hinder me in my goals. I feel like we can coexist peaceable together.” Ky stated in a blank tone and watched to see the affect of his statement but it was only met with a nod before she started to speak.
“ I make no promises because honestly I don’t know your goals and I have ones of my own. As it is one of my goals will be forwarded by us presenting and being in actions a well bonded pair.” Moore said her tone was not soft nor forceful but held strength.
Ky thought as he listened. It would also benefit him if their bond was functioning well. Also if he could get to a point int time where he could have some trust in Princess Moore then he would be able to see how much their goals align.
“ I think Princess Moore that if we can come to trust each other we maybe able to work together on each of our goals.” Ky said
“ I agree Prince Ky and please call me Moore. I would like us to make this as comfortable as possible.” Moore responded.
“ Then we are in agreement and then address me as Ky.” Ky said as he stood. Moore also stood curtsied to Ky and walked out. Once she had left and Ky went back to left court palace leaving his ease dropping father in silence.
Empire Qi didn’t know how he felt about the conversation. He know his son was aware of him listening in but he also had and unpleasant suspicion that Princess Moore had also be aware. This bonding would be interesting to watch.
Three days past and the bonding ceremony was held. It was just lavish as Prince Blade’s but most or the guest didn’t notice they were to busy critiquing Princess Moore face, movement and figure. Prince Ky watched as she bore it all with a blank expression. The ceremony ended with the newly bonded pair off the their shared chambers, the guest were off to tell who would like to hear that the rumors were all true and the bad luck of Prince Ky and Prince Blade and now Princess Vivi left for their palace both feeling satisfied in their lot compared to others .
