Mich’s POV—PRESENT DAY
Staring at herself in the mirror,she just wished things would have been different, not even noticing a tear had left her eyes until they touched her cheek, wiping it away, she had her name being called at the other side of the door.
Michelle can I come in, her mother asked
Yes mom, she replied holding the door for her mom to come in.
You’re not ready, what’s wrong darling
Nothing much, I just don’t feel like having all those people around mom, can we just not have a party this year please, She said pleading
Don’t be ridiculous love, we have all our guest downstairs waiting for you, dress up let’s go please
Mom but....
No complaints love, get dressed, will be waiting for you downstairs and it’s not good to keep your guest waiting, I believe you know that honey, her mom said living in the room banging the door a little harder
Rolling her eyes, she took the box on her bed and walked into the washroom to get changed.
Few moments later, she joined the guests downstairs as they kept cheering and singing happy birthday songs to her.
Her mom kept dragging her from one guest to the other making sure she didn’t run away from the party.
Mom, can we just cut the cake already, she said impatiently to her mother, mentally rolling her eyes
Why love, let’s greet some more guests, aren’t you loving it here sweetheart, her mom replied trying to pull her through the crowd to a couple who just walked in
No mom, let’s cut the cake, I’m famished, she lied through her teeth
OK, let’s go back then, her mother pulled her through the crowd to the birthday cake.
Hello everyone, as you all know we are here to celebrate with Michelle on her 22nd birthday and we would like to attention as we cut the cake, her mom said half yelling.
Clapping and cheering burst across the room making her lose her patience the more.
