Chapter 1

It was a rainy day and the wind howled eerily against the tree, making inhuman sounds that made the hair on the listener’s back stand up.

On that dark windy night, where there was nobody around, Wei Wuxian knew that he was going to die.

Without being able to swim, it was only a matter of time before he would be pulled under by the cold current of the murky river.

After he struggled for his consciousness for some time, he didn’t have much of a choice, when the darkness slowly engulfed him, swallowing him until he took his last breath and finally surrendered.

If only…

That was the last thought before the darkness swallowed his mind, thus missing a desperate plea of someone who tried to save him.

Don’t wanna close my eyes

I don’t wanna fall asleep

’Cause I’d miss you, baby

And I don’t wanna miss a thing

’Cause even when I dream of you

The sweetest dream would never do

I’d still miss you, baby

And I don’t wanna miss a thing…

Wei Wuxian slowly opened his eyes to the faded sound of the familiar song.

He scrunched his brows and touched his head when he felt some sticky residue, quickly retracting his hand to see the dried blood staining his hand. His head seemed to have bled for a while, but luckily he was fine.

He looked around slowly and found himself lying on a bed, but other than that everything was dark.

He did a quick check on his body to find out if he was hurt anywhere, but when he touched his chest, he froze.

There was a strange feeling in his hand, like soft, squishy flesh…

He looked down and almost screamed from fright.

Boobs??? He had boobs??? What the fuck?!

The next thing he did was quickly run down his hand to his family jewels to double check. Thankfully, they were still there.

But boobs? What the fuck?

His hand searched around to find some kind of a light source, when he felt a table lamp beside him and he turned it on. His gaze slowly scanned around and he took notice of his surroundings.

The first thought he had was that he was having a nightmare.

It was like he was thrown headfirst into some kind of Alice in Wonderland perverted alternate reality. Everything was pink and frilly with plush dolls and even the bed was like the one in Disney princess’ movie.

His hand touched the white curtains of the canopy bed, pushing them aside to get out of the pink bed.

What’s with all the pink? And where the hell was he?

He looked around and his eyes found what he had been looking for–a mirror. He walked to the direction of the floor length mirror and when someone appeared on it, he gasped.

The reflection that was looking back at him was of someone who was the exact opposite of himself.

Wei Wuxian was a tall, dark, handsome man, with ink black hair and silver eyes. His body was lean, yet ripped and strong. He was once crowned the most handsome man of the century and he had a full body ink that was as delicate as watercolor.

And yet all he could see now was a feeble, short, thin body with boobs and wearing a dress nonetheless.

On second thought, he took off his frilly dress and finally took a good look at his body.

The boobs were fake. Thank fuck. It was the highest grade silicone that felt like original flesh, and it was custom made to fit this body perfectly. Good enough to pass his scrutinizing eyes. But that was not the point here. Damn if he was lost in his thoughts again.

Wei Wuxian took the fake boobs off, along with the pink lace bra and thong that rode up on his ass. Ugh . Why would someone tortured themselves by wearing this balls’ trap, he would never know.

He then scanned the body carefully.

He was maybe 175cm tall–quite short for a boy. He was skinny, and the color of the skin was creamy. His hair was long, thick, luscious… and pink .

He couldn’t help but facepalming himself and kneading his throbbing temple.

What in the world was this boy thinking? Pink hair? Really?

The family jewels were thankfully still there, as he previously checked. Though it was not the size that he preferred. A major setback, really. Not that he planned to use it anytime soon, but a man could always wish.

But why did this boy dress like a girl? And why did he, Wei Wuxian, end up here? The last thing that he remembered was he went to a meeting with…

Right at that moment, a piercing headache came and he almost fell down from pain. Then together with the headache, the memories of this boy flooded into his mind.

The boy’s name was Mo Xuanyu. He was born as an illegitimate child of Jin Guangshan, but his mother concealed his gender because Jin Guangshan’s official wife would kill any other male heir other than her own. She did not want to have any competition for her own sons.

He lived with his mother, who doted on him. But as he grew older he realized that he was more interested in the same gender rather than the opposite. He also loved dressing up as a princess, which said something about his state of mind.

Mo Xuanyu was a childish boy, who yearned to be a princess with his own white knight in shining armor, who someday would save him and take him away from all the mess he was born into.

He was bullied by the girls because he was too pretty, confessed his love to numerous boys and was used like a toy by them before discarding him after he went past his usefulness. He was also bullied by his half siblings, because he was weak and would not fight back. Useless, they said.

His mother worked hard to fulfill his every whims and wishes and was not aware of what was actually happening with her own child, his state of mind, his worries, his slowly descend to hell. Her only goal was to make her child safe and happy and sadly, he was not all that. Mo Xuanyu was just a broken shell for a broken and lost soul.

And last night was the pinnacle of the bullying, when the queen bee of the high school he was in called a few of her underlings, and they beat Mo Xuanyu up to his death.

All because he was born different.

Wei Wuxian gritted his teeth as the memories began to take form in his mind. He could feel the desperate plea of Mo Xuanyu, the despair that filled his heart, the yearning for any kind of love, for someone to accept him just the way he was.

And finally, the acceptance that he would never feel loved, because he could sense that death had awaited him.

Wei Wuxian could feel all the different emotions that were swirling in his head and how his heart clenched in pain from all the memories that had just come back from the boy as if they were his own.

He decided right there and then.

I will take revenge for you.

Wei Wuxian was never a man who abided by the rules.

When he was alive, he was a hacker called the Grim Reaper, the king of the hacking world, who had all the hackers in the world under his command. They were too afraid to even think of defying him–sans the few strays who thought that they were smarter than the Grim Reaper. In the end, they would end up in prison, or somewhere worse. That’s what you get for being ignorant.

Grim Reaper was the only person who gave a voice to the weak, by any means. He would always try to uphold justice, in any way that he could. Although most of the time it was not fully legal and mostly breaking the law, he didn’t care.

As long as justice prevailed, he would do anything.

Then as soon as it appeared, the headache was gone. By that time he noticed that his eyes were dry and gritty. He quickly recognized the feeling that was caused by the prolonged use of contact lenses, so he walked to the bathroom to take them off. He just hoped that it was not prescription contacts.

Glasses were not his forte, although he would use it if he must. It could be a good cover and he could tweak the glasses to contain the newest A.I. that he had been developing before his death.

He walked to the sink where there were tons of containers for contact lenses and the cleaning solution. He opened one of the cases and poured the solution then he took off the dried contacts from his eyes and put it inside. He noticed that the contact lenses were an ordinary dark brown color, but when he looked into the mirror, he was dazzled by the original color of his, no–the boy’s eyes.

It seemed that Mo Xuanyu had a genetic disorder called heterochromia.

One of his eyes was a brilliant hazel that was so light it looked like molten gold, and the other was… silver. Just like his original eyes. The fox eyes shape had the quality of being seductive without having to try hard. Overall, he could understand why the boy was being bullied. He simply was too beautiful for his own good.

Wei Wuxian could understand now, why he hid his beautiful eyes, although it seemed that it was the only thing he could understand since he still did not get why the boy painted his hair pink. Wouldn’t that attract more crazies?

Wei Wuxian also noticed that the body was not fully developed yet, so the boy was maybe around 17-18 years in age. If his new memory was correct, his eighteenth birthday was just around the corner. Good enough. He couldn’t live without his liquor, so being an underage was a huge disadvantage for him.

He then touched his skin, and it felt sticky from all the blood and grime, and he saw the huge shower near the sink, so he decided to take one. Judging from his condition, he really needed to.

The bathroom was a typical girl’s bathroom with white marble floor and pastel pink thick round carpet. The shower was big enough for three people and it was luxurious, complete with multiple speeds and massage function. In short, it was the King of showers. He could stay there for a long time since there was also a luxurious bench inside for him to sit. He wondered how long it took the boy to take a shower for him to install a fucking bench inside.

He walked inside and noticed that there were many liquid soaps and face wash products, all were set in very neat rows according to brand. They all smelled like honey and jasmine, super feminine. He preferred the citrus smell, but he was not picky. He then pressed the controller and chose the medium spray and hot temperature for his aching body. After enjoying the full blast spray of water, he started to choose the shampoo and the soap and pumped them into his hand. They smelled so delicious… and expensive. He groaned in satisfaction.

He started by washing his body first with the luxurious creamy body wash and enjoyed the massage function. Then he washed his pink hair with the special shampoo that smelled like jasmine. It was so fragrant and therapeutic, he massaged them into his scalp carefully, since he remembered the wound from before. And that’s when he noticed that the water from the shower turned red from the dried blood, followed by… pink.

Good.

It meant that the pink hair color was temporary, he couldn’t wait to see the original color. Wei Wuxian took another pump of the luxurious shampoo and he rewashed the hair to get the last of the pink color off, and then he finished his shower a moment later and took one of the wide and fluffy towels from the cabinet beside the sink and wrapped it around his whole body. He then peeked a look into the mirror only to gape again.

Mo Xuanyu’s original hair color was silver.

He double checked the roots to find if any darker color appeared from the grown hair, but it didn’t seem like it. Even his eyebrows and eyelashes were all silver after those clumps of black mascara and heavy makeup were off.

Right now he looked at the reflection in the mirror, and the one who looked back at him was a figure like a fairy with his long silver hair, silver and gold eyes, and creamy translucent skin so smooth and tender.

No wonder nobody ever suspected that Mo Xuanyu was actually a boy. He looked like a delicate water nymph, who just emerged from the sea.

But he felt that this body was too weak. Wei Wuxian had to find a way to train himself back to his previous condition if he wanted to take revenge for the boy. And it seemed that unconsciously, he had accepted that he had been reincarnated into a new body.

Then suddenly a searing pain appeared on his left side.

He clutched it tight, wondering if Mo Xuanyu suffered internal injuries that he didn’t know about. But as soon as it appeared, it was gone. The only thing left was a beautiful watercolor phoenix tattoo on his left side, starting from the back of his left side, and it ended on his left thigh.

He definitely remembered that it was one of his previous body’s tattoos, the one that had been with him ever since he could remember. Although judging from his memory now, it could be a new one from last month. How fleeting. He chuckled at the irony. He also wondered if this was some kind of a sign since phoenix in eastern culture meant rebirth and rise from the ashes. Was this meant a second chance for him to find out who killed him, and who tried to harm his… his… his what?

There seemed to be some kind of a blank piece in his memory. All he remembered was that it was important. He was important. But… who was he? If he was that important, why couldn’t he remember him? There were so many questions, and yet he could not answer any of them. Damn, he didn’t even know why he was resurrected in the first place.

Ah well, first things first, he needed to find some clothes other than the frilly, pink dress that Mo Xuanyu seemed to be fond of since he saw his closet. He almost died from a pink attack just from a glance inside Mo Xuanyu’s walk-in wardrobe. He had to do something about all the pink and the decor of the room, if he planned to live here long term. Well, not as if he had any other plan in this body. Except to find out who tried to kill Wei Wuxian, and if his transmigration to Mo Xuanyu’s body had been a coincidence or a more sinister plan.

To do that, he needed to change his room. His eyes would go blind after a long exposure of that much pink color, after all, his favorite color was always black.

The color let him blend with the darkness that surrounded him all the time, and it was also meant to symbolize that although he himself was standing in the darkness, he would always be there to show him light, to give him hope. He didn’t care if he had to stay in the darkness as long as that man would always be in the light, standing tall to uphold justice.

Wait.

Who was he again ?

Wei Wuxian felt like there was something missing from his memory, but when he tried to remember more, the thoughts seemed to have slipped away from him like water from a broken cup.

It’s fine. It’s nothing. It would probably come back slowly.

Yet he couldn’t help but feel that a part of his soul was missing.
