Prologue: Drag You to the Depths of the Sea
Prologue: Drag You to the Depths of the Sea
It was fall. Dull orange and brown leaves were being swept away with the wind. I took his hand and started jumping on the crunchy leaves that had fallen on the ground.
“Do you know what I’m going to do when we grow old? I’ll drag you down to the depths of the Sea, to Atlantis so that we can stay there, together for forever.” He said as his blue eyes shone with excitement.
“We can’t even breathe underwater. Do you have Ursula’s powers or King Triton’s powers or something?” I laughed at the boy’s cuteness. I knew it! There would surely be some after-effects of him after watching The Little Mermaid.
“ I do!” he said, which made me laugh even more.
“ I got this from May!” He shoved his closed fists towards my chest and opened it. There, on his tiny palm were two necklaces of a mermaid tail and a trident. “The mermaid tail is for you and the trident’s mine. I’ll make your legs into a tail and make you be able to breathe underwater! And don’t worry, I’ll leave your voice alone.”
“Wasn’t it Ursula who turned Ariel’s tail into a pair of legs?”
“It doesn’t matter!” he replied with a toothy grin, and both of us fell on a pile of leaves in a fit of giggles.
