Chapter 1: Oceana's Love for Puerto Rico and Her Dreams
Dedicated to my Mom
“Nothing is better for your soul than to visit Puerto Rico.” ― Lin-Manuel Miranda
I have always dreamt about going to college in Boston. My parents are big time supporters but they worry about my kind of, anti-social personality and cold first-hand appearance but it’s only in the beginning once you get to know me better I’m actually nice and caring.
I wouldn’t say I’m that nice but I’m definitely not a full-time meanie or bully.
I love it here in Puerto Rico, the beaches, my family, and the colorful structures are some of the best things here in my opinion.
I love hanging out in the more poverty type areas though. I just like it more cause everyone knows everyone there and it’s a lot more peaceful.
Mostly everyone is friendly there, the kids play around frequently and don’t have to be too careful with cars and trucks because barely any ever come there, maybe just for food or passthrough.
But I want to be in Boston, I wanna live in Boston, I’ve always loved the cold. The colleges there are some of the best colleges in the USA (from what I’ve heard at least).
My mom always told me to dream big and believe in myself. Some of the best advice I’ve ever heard to be honest. My parents are always there when I need them and I love them because of that. My dad always said if I was stubborn enough to complete something then I would and that’s what I’m planning to do.
Believe it or not, I’ve always wanted to study economics. It’s always been a very interesting topic to me, I got stuck to it at age eleven and even after researching other topics none stuck as much as economics did, so that’s what I’m going for.
I already got a plane ticket to Boston for after graduation and the college I wanna go to.
If everything goes right, thanks to God, then I’ll get to go to college and fulfill my dreams.
