Chapter 1

"Run Glory! Run!!!" Glory heard the echo of her mum's voice as she raced down the mountain, scurrying into the woods towards a destination she knew nothing about. She could hear the other magical dogs bark and fight with all the strenght they had trying to keep their land safe and fight against the monster who had the intention to devour them.

The end of the battle was unknown to her because she was never there to witness how it all ended. Whether they had won or not, she knew not. All she found herself do was walk down the woods among the shrubs, scared and hungry with nervous puppy eyes until she came across a hut which seemed to belong to a petty trader. The trader had opened his eyes in awe, catching sight of her as he carried a keg of water from the back of his hut as if he hadn't seen a dog before.

"What the heck is this kind of dog?" The man had asked in amazement as he admired her rainbow coloured coat and ocean color retina. "You will definitely cost lots in the city"

*******

In a large city of a Golden Goose located right in the outskirts of USA, there had lived a family of four known for their outgoing and peaceful nature among man except their notorious son. Everyone commonly knew them as the Samson's due to their influential origin and their well known bravely in the past. They had a son named John who was known among his peers to be the most obnoxious and notorious child in the neighborhood. No fight or conflict which seemed to occur would have John not being the initial cause of it in the first place. This was one of the reasons why every resident of his neighborhood knew him as a young boy who might 'get in trouble with the government' if he doesn't change his bad ways.

John had always loved to have a dog since his childhood days and often reminded his parents he wanted a dog for a birthday present. His request was most of the time ignored because in most cases, his parents agreed he doesn't deserve it. He barely did well in school and often came home with red marked grades showing his teachers angry remarks regarding how terrible he was with his studies.

"You have to improve in your grades if you really want a dog that bad John. You cannot get a dog without any improvement in your studies" His dad had advised him one evening, after inviting him over for a cup of coffee. His dad was a tall young American in his early 40's known for his amazing map making skills. He was known to make easy self explainatory maps for many local and foreign travellers who came across to him. His fee was known to be the cheapest and his work the neatest since he often took his time and effort to ensure he makes his work perfect. Nothing was more important to him than a perfectly done work which is to be appreciated by people. Give your best in what you do! Show them all you can do it! Tell them you're gifted and give your damn best! This were one of his favorite saying which he often repeated to his stone headed son who cared the least about perfection.

"I do not like studying father. You can give me some other task but please do not force me to study" John pleased to his dad knowing studying was definitely the last thing on his mind at that moment. His dad hadn't changed his mind. How important is the dog to you? The dog you want or your laziness? This was exactly what his dad's request sounded to him at that moment. He groaned.

Arriving back to his room, he deeply of one of the fastest ways to study fast and pass an exam. A portion could do the drink...but where could he get a portion. How could he even make one?

"Where do you keep your fictious spell book?" John asked his younger sister Emily as she opened up her bag searching for her pen.

"Excuse me? Fictious what now?" She asked confused arching her eyebrows.

"I meant, where do you keep your fictious spell book. The one given to you in school" He reminded her wondering why she had the memory of Dory. She widened her eyes realizing what he meant.

"Ooo. That. I gave it to Lizzy. She needed it so bad. I couldn't say no" She responded promptly focusing back on her pen hunt.

"You've got to be kidding me" John complained.

"Just study please. The spell book isn't even real. Thee are just some bunch of Abracadabras and some baby words tend to merge together to form a meaningless word. I mean, what the heck is Hoolaagoogoogaagaa?"

He gazed away from her. She knew what he was up to.

"I know you aren't listening to me right now. John, you need to study. There is no shortcut to success"

"How the heck do you want me to study? I barely remember what i read"

"It's fine. Just try to enjoy what you read. See it as a means to gain knowledge" She advised giving him a nice smile finally removing her pen from her bag.

John rolled his eyes in pride.

"You're younger than me. I should not take advise from you"

She smirked.

"You're not ready to gave a dog then"

John groaned. With reluctance, he visited the home of one of the most brilliant student in his class pleading the 13 year old boy assist him in studying. At first, the boy thought it was all a joke and playfully brushed it off. But realizing he was really serious, he agreed immediately promising to try his best.

The studying task was so tedious for him. He tried so hard not to show it or act like he didn't feel a splitting headache and terrible boredom just sitting at a position and nodding yes to everything the class Nerd said.

"Reading sucks" He finally responded in frustration just as soon as he was asked to define Respiration. "Why don't we play tag with the others outside instead?"

***

Well, at least all the studying paid off even though the sleepless nights and the thorough research had made John life a complete hell....that was what he had thought at first until he caught sight of his result.

"Your hardwork paid off John. I am so proud of you. You are the second in the entire class" His class teacher had congratulated him giving him a pat on the head. The boy was totally amazed by this.

"Wait?! I earned this?" He asked with shock.

"Of course. You definitely earned this" She agreed with a nod. "If you keep up with this, you could end up being a doctor one day"

"Or a traveller" He added with a big grin. His teacher wasn't impressed by that.

"You can say tourist instead. But i do not think that's a real job. If you want a real job,you will have to be a doctor or a lawyer...or something that will get you paid. Being a tourist will not give you a pay. You will only spend money" She advised.

John felt dumb realizing she was right about that. Even though he had this massive dream to becaome a tourist and travel places on earth he had never been to, he nevwr really thought of the fact he needed money to stay live while on that journey. He needed fund.

For the first time, he felt good about being stepping out of his comfort zone. For years never been shoved with sweets and gifts as his parents had shoved at him the moment they learnt about his tremendous performance from his teacher. Was this what it felt like to do what one hated? Was this what stepping out of ones comfort area felt like? To be homest, he couldn't deny being proud of being the center of attention. He felt very powerful. He felt in control of the events that day. His mum had offered to cook him anything he wanted and as for his father, he had kept his promise and bought him a dog. To his stunned expression, the dog hos dad had bought was not just any dog he had ever seen. It was a magical dog which looked tremendously exceptional.

"I thought you would like something unique" his dad informed him placing the dog in his arms. John had a long gaze into the dog's eyes for a while before staring back at his dad.

"Why does it look like this?" He asked.

"I do not know. The dog merchant had promised he was exceptional. I felt you needed something like that"

John smiled. His dad was right about that. He loved the extra ordinary. This was definitely the best choice for him. He named the dog Heily.

Deep in the night while he was asleep, he woke up to whispering sounds which seem to sound from a being present in his room. Fear gripped him immediately because he was certain he slept in his room alone. There was definitely no one there except himself and his new dog. Turning to side to face the dog, he got dumbstruck catching sight of the dog talking to himself in whispering sounds. As the dog spoke, it's rainbow fur glowed in the dad causing it to radiate various colours. John had never been as scared and confused as he was at that moment im his entire life. Not sure of what to do, he tip toed out of his bed and hurried off to his door, ready to report to his dad immediately. As he tried unlocking the door, he heard the feminie voice of the dog plead to him.

"Please do not report!"

He felt his breathe cease. It could actually talk.
