Chapter 1

Emily arrived at home to the apartment where she lived with her boyfriend Adam. She walked in and put her stuff down.

“Hey babe how was work?” Adam asked.

“It was exhausting,” Emily said.

“Dinner will be ready soon so you sit and relax,” Adam said.

“Thanks babe,” Emily said. She sat down on the couch and took off her shoes. She was a nurse at the hospital.

“Anything bad happen today?” Adam asked.

“Not today thank goodness,” Emily said. Her phone beeped. She looked at it and saw a message from her mom.

“Hey sweetie, just checking in to see how you were?” her mom Sarah texted.

“I am good, how are you doing?” Emily texted.

“Not so good, Jack and I have separated,” Sarah texted.

“Again?” Emily texted.

“This time is for good, I messed up again,” Sarah texted.

“You cheated again?” Emily texted.

“I don’t know why I keep doing it, I just wish I could stop hurting everyone,” Sarah texted.

“Who was it this time?” Emily texted.

“Some guy your age, it was one time and Jake walked in on it happening, he just glared at us and said the marriage was over,” Sarah texted.

“So he didn’t beat the guy up?” Emily texted.

“No because I had told him how your dad and I split up so he thought he could cure me of it, I wish someone could,” Sarah texted.

“Maybe just don’t get married anymore, you dated Seth for a couple of years and you both broke up amicably and you never cheated on him,” Emily texted.

“I think you are right, Em, I tend to cheat on husbands but not boyfriends,” Sarah texted.

“So where you going to go now?” Emily texted.

“I am going to get a hotel room for now until I decide on what to do, I have Erica and Nate getting my stuff out of the house and I already gave the key and my rings back,” Sarah texted.

“I would say we could meet for lunch tomorrow but I have to work so I can have the weekend off, Adam and I are going to the Hamptons’ this weekend for his parents’ anniversary party,” Emily texted.

“I can come have lunch at the hospital with you,” Sarah texted.

“I’ll let you know what time I’ll get one,” Emily texted.

“Okay honey, love you,” Sarah texted.

“Love you Mom,” Emily texted. She put her phone down. Adam came in from the kitchen.

“What’s up?” Adam asked.

“My mom cheated on Jake and he filed for a divorce,” Emily said.

“Again? She cheated again?” Adam asked.

“Yeah, I told her don’t get married again because she cheats on husbands but not boyfriends, she dated Seth for two years and never cheated,” Emily said.

“Well I know we are solid and I wouldn’t do that to you and I know you wouldn’t do that to me,” Adam said.

“Nope I couldn’t cheat on my other half,” Emily said. Adam smiled and kissed her softly. The kiss deepened and they laid on the couch and removed each other’s clothes and they made love. He kissed her softly.

“I love you Em,” Adam said.

“I love you too,” Emily said. They got dressed and went to eat dinner and cleaned up and he carried her to the bedroom where they pulled off their clothes and made love off and on throughout the night before falling asleep in each other’s arms.

Quick note from author:

Thank you for reading my stories. Please don’t criticize the way I write by pointing out the ‘he said she said’ parts. I want my style to be different from others and want everyone to know says what in my stories instead of everyone guessing who said what. It’s the way I have always written since I started over 20 years ago. Please only send positive comments and reviews. Keep the negative stuff to yourself. It will not change my way of writing and I won’t change my way of writing so keep those negative stuff to yourself. Have a good day and thanks for reading.
