Prologue
It happened so fast I couldn’t react in time.
My world revolved around him.
I became obsessed.
I became a stalker.
He didn’t know I existed but I knew he did.
I lost myself because of him.
I lost most of my friends.
I almost lost my mother’s trust.
But I found love,
All because I fell for him.
The fourth year of high school was supposed to be my year. I’ll let my inner self loose and be myself for once and not only an appearance of a perfect little girl. I wasn’t a nerd nor a trouble maker. I wasn’t a saint either, was a devil. I was somewhere between. I was very friendly therefore I knew almost all 4th-year students, well most were my friends. I was a happy, regular person until I started ‘feeling. ’ I had dated some guys before and I could say I never fell for them. I just superficially liked them. Only their face, their body, or their deep voice was attractive. I never liked a guy for who he was. I don’t regret it one bit either. But when he came about, I started feeling. At first, I thought it was hatred because he was smarter than me. Slowly, I realized it was something else, something deeper, something called love.
That was the one word I hated with my guts. Love was a false illusion created by the brain. The word that made my best friend swoon over a Jerk of a guy who played her wrong. That made my other friend get broken and lost so, she now suffers from depression. The word that made my ‘sister’ harm herself to the point where she got locked in a mental asylum. I dislike that word with my guts but somehow, I can’t help myself but fall in love.
Soon I became addicted to him, dreaming of him 24/7. I dreamt of a family of 4 living in a cabin by a lake. Smiling faces on them all. I’d hate it when I woke up and lost the dream and woke up, but I felt better when I remembered we had classes together. I couldn’t concentrate at all. All I could do was watch his jet black hair, his hidden muscles in the shirt, and his pink lips speaking English in a very thick British accent.
Hands touched his shoulders, they circled his chest. I knew it was her. The pretty girl that every guy wants. But not him. He removed her hand and sent her to her seat. Well deserved. He was a reserved guy but fun. He once got worried for me because I was stressed with the classes. He gave me a gentle smile and I’d swear I was dying. I went home skipping like a doggy. I felt happy and energized.
I sat on the floor crying while x letters sat on my lap. They were getting wet with my tears but, I didn’t care. Mommy hugged me and kissed my forehead. I sadly smiled as I looked at my reflection. Tony entered the room with Jess and they stood there watching me cry my heart out for that guy. That day I swore I needed to forget him.
