Chapter 1. The seating chart
It was halfway through 8th grade, second trimester. I walked into my first period, history, and saw a new seating chart. I didn’t mind because the guy I sat next to was loud and he was always yelling. I saw that I had to sit next to a guy I didn’t know, they are usually the weird ones. He had dirty blond hair, but he wore a hat. He had green eyes and he was about 5’2 just about 3 inches taller than me. I sat down and he was just talking to his friend who was sitting in front of her. She had blond hair and I recognized her from somewhere. Then I remembered! We would talk at the end of the day in 6th grade before the bell rang. She was nice. I sat down and my friend, Bryce, was sitting across the aisle. Jacob started talking to Bryce and I realized that they were best friends. How did I not know Jacob? He’s best friends with my friend! Jacob started making jokes and they were so funny! He then started talking to me. He was so sweet and so funny! We talked a little bit and the next day I came back to class and I started talking to him some more. I started getting butterflies in my stomach but I wasn’t sure why. Later that night I couldn’t stop thinking about him. I realized… I have a crush on Jacob! I haven’t had a crush in 2 years! I had some small ones that I stopped liking within a few days, but not a crush.. crush!
He was just so perfect! He had the most gorgeous eyes, the most perfectly snapped nose, he always wore sweatpants and a jacket. He was just so cute! All I could think about was him! We were partners for a project. I asked him for help and he was so sweet. I said “sorry I am kind of dumb! Haha!” “You’re not dumb!” He said, It was a simple thing for him to say but it melted my heart. He is so funny though! We were writing down notes and I said “hey can you give me the answer!” As a joke! And he said “YOUR DONE… YOUR DONE!” It sounds cringie but it was so funny. The second we met we just clicked. We got past our shy phase within 10 minutes and it usually takes me a couple days at least! He was just so bright and fun to be with! He makes you feel comfortable around him right away!
