Chapter 1: Testimony
She threw her hair back carelessly rubbing her stressed head. Her eyes were red from crying, her nose and cheeks as well. The red on her lips remained stoic despite the hours she had been there, the questionnaires she had answered.
Police officers who tried to play with her mind trying to get information from her.
"Tell me, there must be something that we missed." The commissioner asked without turning his head, looking at her beyond the glass window.
The employee reopened the information file.
"Nicol Bermuda. Adopted at the age of four by Mikael and Cecilia Bermuda. Nothing is known about the previous family, only that they were burned because the baby was found with the half-burned bear on her hands and covered in ashes, near the 'Angels of the Future' orphanage when she was four year old. After the death of her adoptive parents at the age of 16 she attends the college only for girls blah blah, her father's business falls into the hands of his son Axel Bermuda. Oh commissioner!"
"What is it?" He turned to face the employee hopefully.
"5 years ago she attacked one of her father's partners with a broken glass bottle in his office. But the complaint was withdrawn the next day so she was released."
"Testimony ?"
"Attempted rape."
The commissioner rubbed his beard, what did this 24-year-old want , today's generation of women went after money and luxury. A thought crossed his mind, let him use this situation to extract some information about her brother. He took the file from his colleague and entered the room, sat down in front of her, opened the file whild looking her in the eye then started the game he had in mind.
"So Miss Nicol Bermuda, surprisingly it turns out that five years ago you attacked the former partner of your late adoptive father. I'm curious, how can you give as testimony 'attempted rape' when you were the one who went to his office, attacked him and after that you did not even report to the police to file a complaint. I'm very curious why, tell me?"
"Why don't you check your system and read all the evidence instead of getting me tired of repeating it?" She replied tiredly.
Nicol laughed ironically, this person in front of her was either an idiot or he acted like one. But she was very tired mentally and physically to continue hos game
