In the beginning
“Time to go Ben!” Mom yelled as I finished getting ready.
It was my first day of school at Daylight University.
I wanted to be sure I made a good impression. I checked myself in the mirror. Handsome as ever Ben.
I ran down the stairs.
“I’m ready Mom” I tell my mom as she starts to gush at me.
“Oh Benji, You look so adorable. I can’t believe you’re in college already!” Mom said as she straightened my tie and fixed my hair.
“Ma, ok, ok.” I say whining while smiling, as I try to back away from her.
In that moment, Dad stepped in.
“Margaret, leave the boy. He looks like fine. Let’s get ready to go.” Mom smiled at Dad and said “Ok, ok. Let’s go.
We arrive at the University and it was better than I had imagined. I get out of the car, say goodbye to my parents and start walking towards the entrance gates.
As I am walking I am approached by a group of girls. They are all giggling.
“You look like a famous singer. So handsome” The girls say.
“Ok. Thank you. I say as I continue walking.
I approach the stairs and walk up.
I grab the elevator and get to my room on the 6th Floor.
I enter and see that I have a roommate.
“Hey you must be Ben!” Joseph says as he extends his arm.
“Yes that is who I am” I say as I unpack my stuff.
“That’s great! It is so good to meet you. You are going to love it here, you will see” Joseph said very cheerfully.
He sits on his bed and stares at me.
“You know you look like that famous singer.” Joseph says.
“So I’ve been told.” I say. I have no idea what singer he could be referring to.
Joseph picks up a paper and in the Media section, shows me the picture of the singer.
I gasp as I look at the picture. It was like my twin. But I didn’t have any twins.
I lied and said, ” I don’t see the resemblance.”
Joseph looked at me confused. “You don’t?”
I shake my head. Joseph shrugged.
That night Joseph gave me a tour of the place, told me where all the parties were held, where all
the secret make out spots were and where to ditch class.
Joseph was turning out not to be so bad. I thought.
We get back to the room. I make my bed like my parents taught me and Joseph stares at me.
“Why are you doing that if you are just going to mess it up when you sleep?” He asked me.
I shrugged and said ” My parents taught me how to do this. Besides I like laying on a comfortable bed”.
Joseph shrugged and laid down.
I laid down as well.
A few hours later at the university.
The day had turned to night in a matter of minutes. A few of the girls were walking towards their building on campus.
As they entered a dark area on campus, they started to walk faster.
As they walked, they heard a noise behind them.
They continued walking hoping it was the wind.
The noise got louder.
They nervously turned around and stared into the darkness.
Silence. The noise had stopped.
Satisfied, they continued walking.
Again they heard the noise.
This time they heard growling and what sounded like bare feet on the pavement.
They stopped.
One of them turned around to look and started to scream.
Someone jumped out from the darkness and started attacking them.
Once they stopped breathing, Ben got up and left.
