A Childs Awakening

Your step dad dragged you by your hair and threw you down the stairs, and you looked up to see your mother’s dead body laying in the kitchen. Moments later the Police burst through the front door and dragged your step dad who had been drenched in blood outside. You sat on the ground as people asked if you were ok, but all you could do was cry. The pounding of the rain and the sirens from the cars were all you could hear.

Your heart rapidly beated, feeling like it was about to jump out of your chest. You laid on the floor and couldn’t move, all you did was scream. Although you screamed nothing came out, even breathing became harder for you as you attempted to crawl forward. Eventually you threw yourself and gave up all hope and flopped down onto the floor once again. Laughter of your father filled the air as the room turned to flames, you looked up and saw bright red eyes that glared down at you and a wide demonic smile formed.

You jolted up and screamed, to find yourself laying in bed. It was just a dream, you thought to yourself. Tears started to tiptoeing down your cheeks. Liu quickly sat up next to you and placed his hand on your shoulder.

“Hey, are you ok? The dream again?”

You wiped the tears, “Yeah, just that she was killed six years ago, today. Just the thought of my mother never once crosses my mind, just on the anniversary of her death.”

You turned to Liu and looked into his bright green eyes.

“Six years ago today, you found your real home.”

“Yes, but Zalgo, my dad, he still tries.”

Zalgo, a demonic being who can take forms of anyone’s deepest fears, he uses his powers to ruin lives. Not like that matters, all of the creepypastas ruin the lives of people. Zalgo, he goes above and beyond what the rest of us do. He doesn’t go after the broken, as the children of slender do, he hunts after the people who have just achieved their dreams and are at their brightest moment.

“Slender would never let that happen. As long as he’s here, Zalgo can’t do anything. You’re a child of Slender, not a minion for Zalgo.”

Slender, the father for all those who are deemed to be different than most and have the addiction of blood. The tall, no-faced man cares and loves for those who were betrayed in their past lives, and he gave them another chance by becoming one of his proxies. His job is to help those who lost their way by whatever means necessary no matter how dark.

“Yeah, I know just one day he will come for me, when no one sees it coming. I just need to go for a walk.”

“Ok, just be careful, you’re overthinking again.”

You walked out of your room to see your sister waiting outside your door. She wore a gray hoodie and a black mask covering half of her face, along with white hair and bright red eyes.

“How long have you been waiting Smile?”

“Only for about ten minutes, I heard you scream. And if you’re going for a walk, you’re not wandering the woods alone. I´m coming too”

“Fine, but don’t be weird. I just need to clear my head.”

The two of you walked out of the old broken rundown mansion in the middle of the woods. This place is only found by those summoned or marked by The Slenderman. The outside looked as if it were abandoned, the windows boarded up and broken, nature took over the walls with the vines and bushes growing out of control.

“Was it the dream again?”

“Yeah, but I’m fine.”

“Really? Then why did you wanna go for a walk?”

“Because I needed to clear my head, because I had the stupid dream again.”

“Yeah, you can be easy to read.” Smile said as she hit the back of your head.

The two of you walked down a trail, as the sun rose it started to rain. Drops of water rolled off of the leaves and splashed onto the ground causing small insects to crawl out. Eventually you came back across the mansion.

“Well I’m going to steal some of Haru’s gummy bears.”

“You have a death wish.”

She ran inside and you walked slowly behind.

“Hey, Slender was looking for you.”

You turned to see another pasta, she wore a purple and black Japanese style dress, her hair was black with blue ends, she leaned her back against the wall as her face was shoved into the newest addition of a manga.

“Is he in his study?”

“Yeah, he‘s busy right now. Jeff stabbed Ben’s controller again.”

“Ok, I’ll talk to him later.”

You walked into the kitchen to hear your sister and Haru arguing.

“Smile! Those are my gummy bears!” The boy with half blue and black hair chased her around the kitchen table.

Smile held the bag of delicious bears over her head to use her height against the boy who is nearly in the 5 foot range. As Haru jumped up Smile tossed bears into her mouth.

“Well you can learn to share, you can’t just eat my waffles without payment.”

“You two are too much. Always fighting over those bears.”

“Well Smiles shouldn’t be taking them!” Haru shouted.

“Hey, Slender said we have to share all the food in the house, well maybe not with Jack. He’s a whole different creator, but you have to share Haru.”

“No! NO I do not!” Haru continues to shout as he starts to climb the counter.

“Whatever you’re doing, I don’t wanna be involved.” you laughed out.

Haru jumped onto Smile’s back. Soon enough the two large dark oak doors swung open, their creaking noise bringing a chill to his spine as an evil like laugh followed. It sounded like some dying animal, crying out its pain and sorrow with its last breath. Leaves sprinted in and slowly fell to the floor.

“This doesn’t,” Smiles paused as she dropped the candy and Haru slid to the floor, “sounding like a fellow brother.”

“Not with that laugh.” You felt a drop of sweat roll down your face. “Why would he come out now?”

Slender walked down the stairs, “Children stay here till I’m finished. And please behave yourselves.”

Haru jumped up, “You really want to leave us here alone? With no gummy bears?”

“Haru, candy doesn’t matter right now. Zalgo murdering one of us does.” Smile slapped Haru, and Haru fell back to the floor.

“He’s just going to ask for me to be handed over,” you paused and looked down at the floor.

“You know better than anyone that father won’t let that happen, and if for some crazy reason he does Zalgo will have to get threw me!” Smile walked behind and hugged you.

Haru said, “Yeah because I won’t mess with him, even if he takes my bearings. Sorry but I don’t like being around Zalgo. He burned my gummy bears last time he got mad.”

You started to laugh, “Nice to know I can count on one of you to have my back.”

You walked over to the living room and flopped down onto the couch. You turn on the tv and flip through channels, eventually falling asleep.

You awaken to see you aren’t in the mansion anymore. You are lying on a cold concrete floor. The smell of blood and rotted flesh filled the room, you gagged as you tried to stand, only falling back down. A rusted old chain was attached to your ankle, you looked around to see the room was trashed. Bugs dead and alive were everywhere, vines grown through the walls, leaves, dirt and other things were scattered across the floor. You heard nothing other than the wind blowing through the broken windows and bugs flying around. The room was freezing, and you couldn’t remember what happened. The door creaked open, and you looked up to the one person you hoped not to see, your father.

“What did you do?”

He laughed, “I always find my way around, and I’ll always win the wars.”

“It’s been six years, can’t you just let me be? I’ve never bothered you.”

“It’s your very existence that bothers me, you should have died years ago. Poor Slender has a soft spot for broken children.”

“We are not broken, lost maybe, but we’ve never been broken!” You shouted.

Zalgo began to smile, “Of course no one would admit that they are broken.” He walks closer to you and laughs, “I thought you were stronger than this. You can’t do anything for yourself, you only depend on other people.”

“Maybe if you unchained me, I can put up a real fight!”

“But there’s no fun in that,” He picked up a knife and stoked your face with the blade. “I intend to have fun.”

Before you could speak he rammed the blade into your chest, you couldn’t move or even blink. Then again, the once shining silvery blade slides through your skin. Zalgo stood over you with a smile on his face, as your sight had begun to get blurry and you couldn’t focus on much. The door to the room swung open and you heard someone else enter, their voice sounding familiar just you couldn’t grab onto who it was.

“Zalgo! You have no right to torture my sister god dammit!”

“Well she’s my daughter, I don’t think you get a say in what I do.”

“Smile, Slender will kill us.” Toby, a boy with a brown hoodie and orange goggles came running in after Smile. “We have no business in this, she is his daughter and you are not.”

Toby is a boy who was beaten and abused by everyone who was supposed to love and care for him, driven to insanity by his own parents. He found his way to Slenderman where he was given a family of who would treat him better. He found his happiness, and reasons for keeping sanity.

“Yes, listen to your boyfriend Smile. You have no business, unless you wish to die as well?”

“You hurt my sister, you have to deal with me!”

Smile began to lunge towards him, he waved his hand at Toby.

“You deal with her.”

“Toby! What are you!”

He swung his rusted hatchet that had dried blood on the blades hitting Smile’s back.

“You disrespect the king, you answer to his children.”

“You’re under one of his spells! Don’t fall for his tricks. Please!”

Zalgo’s red eyes were filled with happiness for the first time in his existence, his smile resembled something other than a symbol of sarcastic remark.

“Toby!” Smile screamed as she hit the floor.

“He warned you, didn’t he?” Zalgo’s laugh filled the room.

As you watched your sister get murdered by one of the people she loved, “Don’t she didn’t do anything.”

Zalgo kneeled next to you and held the blood stained knife to your throat.

“I’ve always told you I’d hurt everyone you ever cared about. Just remember this was just the beginning.”

“Your body count will haunt you, this won’t be the end.”

You felt the blade press into your skin and make its way around. You slowly fell to the floor, once again everything became blurry. Your last moments were spent staring at your dead sister, and words of your father.

“As I said years ago, I always get my way. The king of all monsters always wins.”

Everything goes black as you begin to feel nothing.Start writing here…
