Chapter 1
“Come fast Nikita, we have to go!” shouted her friend. She saw a little, long black-haired girl in white t-shirt and blue jeans, with her name ‘SARA’ printed on the t- shirt, running ahead of her and shouting at her to hurry up. Yes, they were late for the big event in the college which apparently, they were to manage. The college was hosting a two days international conference for the students, professors and researchers from across the globe. She ran after her and into the college. Everybody seemed to be sprinting across the corridors, dressed up in white t-shirts and jeans with their name written on their t- shirts, getting things assigned to them, done.
“Oh Nikita! There you are, let’s go!” said Rishabh looking at her. Rishabh and Nikita were best of friends since a long time now and they were working on the same team for the conference which was to manage the guests. Nikita had purposely kept him in her team so that they could have fun together in what seemed to be a boring conference. She stared at him with her kohl lined eyes and smiled as she followed him in the conference room to check the arrangements. She saw Rahul shouting at someone from his walkie- talkie, he was in-charge of the food and refreshment section along with Sara. She waved at him with a smile and asked him to carry on.
“Where are you?” shouted Diya, this time the voice came from her walkie- talkie. How could she forget that she had to meet Diya as soon as she reached college? thought she as she ran towards the main door where Diya was waiting for her with confirmed guest list. Diya was the in-charge of guests along with her and also her partner in all crimes with Rishabh, Rahul, and Sara. She knew that this time is not going to come back and they had to have as much fun as possible while doing their duties to make the conference a master- stroke.
It was already 9 am and the guests would soon start arriving. She was frantically searching for people responsible for the registration counter. Oh! There they are, running with their registers and other stationary towards her. “ITS TIME!” she shouted at them as they all ran towards registration counter near the main door. They could see the guests arriving from the main gate as they hastily arranged the table and sat down for registration. She was glad that the conference would soon begin and prayed for its success.
