Introduction
Javier and Darius were admiring about the flora environment.
“Javi, look. Can you help me with something?“ Darius began. “Boss elected me to make an introductory tape or something like that, for future candidates, just to get a clear mind of what’s to come. You got any ideas?”
Javier began thinking, “Well, we could go to Subject - 99, he’s helped us with tracking previous anomalies, and good at monologuing. Maybe he can help with your introductory tape.”
“That’s a good plan, but I don’t have a tape recorder. Boss wanted to keep a ‘tradition’,” he said.
“Don’t worry, I have one. You just get to room, that’s all,” he assured.
Both men went to their separate ways. Darius was walking towards a map, finding the place where Subject- 99 was held. He took an elevator down, where he reached the floor that the place was at. He proceeded to walk until he reached outside the room.
He waited for a while before Javier arrived.
“Javi, where did you go?” he asked, “It’s been like an hour.”
He scoffed. “I ate lunch, I was hungry.”
“Really? Never mind, can we just get it over with?” he said.
They entered the room, where they saw the person standing at a corner. The man was skeletal, tall and pale as the dead, as if he was resurrected from the dead. He also wore a black suit, along with a mask, which was covering his head.
The man also was talking gibberish.
“Well, he’s always like that,” Javi whispered.
“Though it still creeps me out, let’s just get it over it,.” he said.
Javier walked up to the person, tapping his shoulder. The man, startled, turned around, and was surprised by his presence. The mask was revealed to be a normal ski mask that burglars usually use.
“Ah, Javi, what a pleasant surprise. Something came up in mind?” he noticed.
“Actually, The Storyteller, no new case, but Darius here just needed help with an introductory tape.” he said.
He knew. “I see. Is it because of my monologuing skills? I’m gladly to lend my voice.”
“Alright,” Darius said.
They sat in front of the man. Javi gave him the tape recorder. The Storyteller shushes his mouth, telling them to be silent. He pressed the button.
He began. “Well, hello there. If you are listening to this tape, it means you are one with the DMP, a government supported operation, where we, by the acronym of the foundation, Department of Mysterious Anomalies, we capture any anomalies that are supernatural and paranormal. If any anomaly are beyond extracting, we either eliminate or secure on the spot, dependent by their difficulties. The reason why we’re doing this is to study the anomalies and also to divert any media attention from the public eyes.
He took a short breath.
“I, too, an anomaly. I’m always omnipresent. Even if I’m secured here, I’m always anywhere, at anytime, and I’m always aware of everything that has happened in the past, the present, and maybe the future. And since I’m good at monologuing, I go by the name of The Storyteller. Well, that’s all I have to say for this short introductory tape. Goodbye,”
He ended.
Javier applauded him, which Darius slowly applauded as well.
“That’s perfect, The Storyteller. I think we could use it,” Javier said.
“No problem, Javi. Maybe the ending needs something?” he said.
“I think it’s best that people know that you landed a hand for this,” he said.
“Thanks man, but uh can we have that?” Darius asked.
He scoffed. “I knew you’re always the easily creeped out one, but here.”
He gave the tape recorder, which causes Darius to shiver.
“Alright, see you in flip side,” Javi said.
“I’m always watching, you have my word as well,” he said.
Javier pushes Darius to the door, where he closes the door.
