Chapter 1 Leaving...
Today is my last day in this monstrous house. I can't believe that I will be finally free from this place.
My name is Leah Jacobs, I am 22 years old of age. I was raised by my stepmother Cindy, who didn't seem to like me much. I did everything I could to live up to her expectations but failed terribly. "Mom when is this jinxed woman leaving our house". That's my stepsister Linda who also couldn't stand me at all. "Don't let your father hear that dear, he will scold you and we don't want that do we". Said Cindy to her spoilt daughter.
I was heading to the city with my friend Leon. Growing up in the village, especially living in the house where you are not wanted or appreciated has taught me to fend for myself. I was going to stay with him in the city until I find something. I know very well that with the level of my education I can only work as a Junior or general worker. My father won't even realise that I am no longer in that house as he also can't stand the side of me. He believes that I am the reason he lost his wife. I can't blame him much, because my mom lost her life in a attempt to save me from the car accident that put me in a coma for two months. When I woke up, I was told that my mom was only able to save me as she was trapped inside the car during the explosion. Sometimes I also believe them when they say I am a dark cloud hanging over their family. This is why I decided to leave their home.
I took a step outside my father's compound and looked back at my life. The life that is filled with bad memories which I was ready to leave behind and bury them with the good ones as of today.
