Ehsaas pyaar ka: short story

Bride is siting in the middle of the hall trying to smile weakly. She is looking extremely beautiful in her golden red lehnga but something is missing. Her face is not glowing like it should be. Though she is smiling but happiness not reaching her eyes. She is sitting with her hands filled with heena. A known pain stabbed her heart. Her heart getting heavy thinking about her life after this moment.

Everyone is enjoying wholeheartedly along with her family and friends except HER. She is sitting like a lifeless soul. Her eyes was filled with sorrow and grief remembering HIM.

His fruity smell, feel of his lips still filled her senses. She brushed those unwanted thoughts out from her mind.

''Stop it khushi..don't think about that Rakshas. Concentrate at your marriage..'' She cursed herself and put a forced smile on her face.

Girls then took her to the dance floor. After sometime she come back to paint heena on her palm.

Only few hours left and then she become someone else wife whom she admire like a friend. But the question is that does she love him?

Unka naam konse akshar se shuru hota hain? (From which letter his name start?) Mehndiwali asked the bride.

Silence!

Her friend clear the throat to bring her out of trace.

"Arnav!"

She uttered his name absent minded that is imprinted within her heart. She is lost in the memories of her past.

A few miles away, wind began to blew causing Arnav to go agitated and restless.

Khushi!

His heartbeat started to pound. He got up immediately placing his laptop aside and went near the balcony. Sky is blooming with stars and moon giving him clear view of my beautiful angel.

My angel?

"What did I said?" He is shocked by his own thoughts. "Not at all! What rubbish! I don't love her. She is gone out from my life forever..'' He reminded himself.

He closed his eyes trying to vanish her thought out of his mind. Her charming face once came before his eyes. The way she spread happiness aaround her, her crazy antics, those beautiful moments, every single second pore of his existence craving for her.

''No. I will not remember her!'' His fist clenched.

''Arnav Singh Raizada you are in love! Accept it..'' Khushi suddenly appeared and whispered leaning close to his ears.

''Shut up Khushi..Just go away'' She laughed mocking at him. He turn to lash out at her but she already disappear. He look on shocked as well as bewildered.

''Damn what's wrong with me? Why everywhere I am only seeing her?''

He shot his eyes open and pace in the room.

''She is gone. I will never think about her. Never!'' He took a sharp breathe and tried to fight with his inner storm when a soft arm slid behind him.

''Baby, missing me?'' Lavanya snaked her arm around him and hugged him from behind. He flinched. She pull his face near her and cupped his face.

''I know you cannot stay away from me..'' She look into his eyes. He seems lost somewhere.

"What happen Asr? I'm noticing you since long time. Is there something bothering you..?'' He didn't reply her.

''I know how to cheer you up..'' She snake her hand around his neck and lean near his lips. Once again Khushi's face came before his eyes. It's a height now. Furiously, he pushed her with a jerk. As a result, she move backward.

''Leave me alone!!!!!!!!! He shouted. She was taken aback by his behavior.

"I said go..'' She try to speak moving at him but been interrupted.

''Enough khushi." After a brief pause, he realised what he just said and corrected "I mean lavanya..'' There were a pin drop silence.

Lavanya did not ask nor say anything.

Now she understand why he is behaving so weirdly since so many days. Everything is crystal clear now. There is only one medicine of his problem.

KHUSHI

''What you have done"

Khushi shouted at the girl who was applying henna as she painted Arnav's name instead of her Fiancee, Rohit.

''Do you have any idea what you have done?'' Everything look at her.

''Mam you only told this name..''

Khushi got astonished and rushed toward the washroom to wash her palm immediately. But it is too late. His name already painted within her palm. Payal followed her behind and saw her scratching her palm.

When it become impossible to do so, she took the knife and brought it near her palm.

''Stop it khushi! What you're doing? She stop her snatching knife from her hand.

''Calm down!''

Payal gave her a plane glass of water and made her seat. Her breathe getting sharp.

No matter how much she try his name already wrote in her heart and body.

A person who turn her life upside down in just one night.
