Evelyn's POV:

Malorie, Gracyn, and I all ran up towards a road. I noticed that we were in front of a prison and I decided to climb the fence. "Hurry up!" I called down from above. I watched Malorie help Gracyn up the fence as I, myself, climbed back down onto the other side. "Jump on down, I'll catch you!" I called for Gracyn . I watched as Gracyn jumped down, catching her quickly, and placing her down onto the ground. "Malorie hurry up, there's walkers!" I yelled quickly heading towards the fence doors and opening them up. *Slam!* I closed the fence doors and all you could hear was the sounds of growling behind us. β€œAlright, so how are we gonna get over there?” I said pointing towards the prison. β€œThere’s more than 15 walkers in front of us.” Malorie says. I rubbed the back of my neck, struggling to figure out what to do. Before I knew it, all you could hear from behind was the sound of people shouting and yelling. I turned around and noticed a group of people running our way. β€œShit! What do we do?” Malorie yelled at me. β€œI-I don’t know!” I said before realizing what I was about to do. I quickly ran towards the fence doors and pulled them open. β€œHurry!” I yelled. There were seconds before these people could get attacked so I knew what I had to do. Quickly I pulled out my Colt Python and shot as many walkers as possible.

I felt a hand pull me back and I helplessly fell backwards. β€œMalorie what the hell!” I yelled as I heard the fence doors close. β€œI’m sorry! I had too!” Malorie apologized. I shake my head and turn around staring at the handsome man in front of me. β€œThank you.” He says in a low voice. I nodded and added, β€œEvelyn.” He smiled and turned to his people. β€œEve! We don’t know these people, why are you introducing yourself to them!?” Malorie said protectively. *Sigh* β€œMal, please we just saved these people’s lives, at least honor them.” I said and watched Malorie look away. β€œRick Grimes.” I heard a man say. I turned around and noticed the handsome man letting out his hand for me to shake. I smiled, taking this man’s hand and shaking it. β€œEvelyn, I’d like for you to meet my group.” Rick says. Turning around I noticed more than 10 people were standing in front of me. β€œHello.” I greeted. β€œThis is my wife Lori, my son Carl, Glenn, Maggie, Carol, Hershel, Beth, T-Dog, and Daryl.” I smiled, β€œIt’s nice to meet you all.” I said. I felt a tug from behind and turned around. β€œWhat’s up Gracie?” I smiled, leaning down to Gracyn’s level. β€œI have to pee..” Gracyn said. β€œOh-” I said awkwardly. I got up and turned around. β€œUhm.. Rick?” I asked.

Rick turned around and walked over. β€œYes?” He asks. β€œWell, my niece needs to uhm.. Use the bathroom..” Rick raised his eyebrows. β€œAlright then.” Rick turned around and before I realized I looked down and noticed liquid on the floor. β€œOh- Gracie..” I said embarrassed. I turned around and walked Gracie away from the other’s. I let Malorie help clean Gracyn up and stood guard. β€œSorry.” I said looking away. β€œHey no worries, just need to figure out how we’re gonna get inside.” Rick said, patting me on the shoulder. I smiled and watched as Rick turned around and spoke to his group. β€œHey, are you all done back there?” I spoke softly. β€œYes, all done.” Malorie

says. I turned around and watched as Gracie ran and hugged me. I smiled and patted her on the back. β€œAhem.” I heard from behind. I turned around and noticed Rick nodding me over. I walked on over towards Rick and listened in. β€œSo I was thinking if Maggie, Beth, and Lori all head over there and make some noise, have Carl, Hershel, and Carol up in the towers, and Daryl up in that tower I think we’ll do pretty good.” Rick finished. β€œWhat about the rest of us?” Glenn asks.

β€œWell once we’re down you guys can help bring in the vehicles.” Rick said. β€œAnd them?” Lori said pointing towards Malorie, Gracyn, and I. β€œShe’s good with her bow, and she’s a fast runner.” Malorie says from behind. β€œAlright then, you can come with me.” Rick says. I smile nodding and turning around. β€œI’ll be fine, don’t worry about me.” I said looking at both my sister and Gracyn. I turned around and pulled out my bow, getting ready to head into action. Rick, Daryl, and I all got ready to run as Malorie, and Gracyn held onto the door. β€œReady.” Daryl said. Before I knew it we we’re running towards another gate, I watched Daryl run towards another tower as I shot many arrows at the heads of walkers, running and dodging them. Soon before I knew it Rick held the fence doors close and I rolled onto the ground. All you heard was the sound of laughing as I looked up. I noticed everyone laughing and cheering, even my own sister. I smiled and got up, grabbing all my arrows out of the heads of walkers. I noticed a sharp black arrow and pulled it out. β€œThat’s mine.” I heard a deep voice from behind. I turned around and noticed a tall, handsome redneck standing in front of me with a crossbow against his chest. β€œHm, I think I'll keep it then.” I smirked. Daryl grunted and pulled at the arrow in my hand but pulling back was quicker than expected.

β€œGive me the damn arrow.” Daryl growled. I laughed, pushing the arrow against his chest. β€œYou're no fun.” I said, rolling my eyes. I turned around putting my bow back where it belongs and walked over to my sister. β€œIsn’t that adorable.” Malorie commented. I rolled my eyes and pushed my sister back. She laughed and rolled her eyes. I watched as everyone gathered their things and walked towards us. β€œYou're pretty.” I heard from behind. I turned around and noticed Carl complimenting Gracyn’s appearance. β€œThanks, I got it from my mom.” I laughed and quickly looked away trying not to get caught. β€œI saw that, it isn’t pretty.” I rolled my eyes and flipped off Malorie. Soon it began to get dark and everyone got situated. Daryl caught some squirrel and we decided to eat that as dinner. I was far from everyone as I stared at the moon. β€œWhat ya doin’?” I heard from behind. I turned my head and noticed Daryl was behind me. β€œStaring at the moon.” I said. β€œWhy the moon?” He asked sarcastically. I rolled my eyes and turned around. β€œBecause it calms me, that’s why.” I said and walked away. β€œI was just askin’!” Daryl yelled at me.

I chuckled and met up with everyone. I sat down and was given some squirrels by Maggie. β€œThank you.” I said. β€œYou're welcome.” Maggie said. As soon as I finished, everyone was already asleep, or so I thought. I was laying on the grass as I stared into the sky. I silently twirled the small knife that I held in my hand. β€œYou don’t wanna drop that.” I heard from behind and jumping up, accidentally dropping my knife. β€œFuck!” I yelled, grabbing onto my palm. β€œYou made me cut myself, what the hell!” Daryl just chuckled and stared. β€œWhat’s so funny?” I said as my palm stung. β€œHere lemme see.” Daryl asked. β€œNo! You made me cut myself!” Daryl shook his head

and grabbed ahold of my hand. β€œDoesn’t look that bad.” He said. β€œBut it hurts like hell.” I growled. Daryl pulls out some bandages and wraps them around my palm. I flinched at the pain in my palm, as I caught Daryl’s attention. β€œYou alright?” He asks. I nod as I slightly look down. Daryl lets my hand go and I turn around instantly. β€œHere, you dropped this.” He says calmly. I turn around and notice Daryl holding my pocket knife. β€œOh, uh thanks.” I say awkwardly. I take my pocket knife out of Daryl’s hand and shoe it in my pocket. β€œWell, goodnight.” I heard Daryl say. I look up and watch Daryl as he walks away. I sighed softly and headed to bed.

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters. I know it sounds critical, but I have the same problem and I hate it. Overall, it was one of the best stories I've read on here so far. I liked it better than those M...
