Undercover, suspicious but conflicted, balancing the truth with the ‘greater good’. This is a story of a romance that grows in a world of spies, intrigue, and half truths that feel like lies. It is written well. The plot starts slow, establishing context before it builds into a fast paced action. The characters are relatable, with a mixture of strengths and flaws. My favorite thing about this author is the dialogue. It is amazing how every character has a unique and nuanced voice. I have read this book cover to cover twice. 🎥 Dual perspectives. Written in 2nd person. (Eg ‘You saw the door open and you stepped through. . 🤬 Infrequent swearing. 🔪 Intense Highly Graphic violence and graphic bloody torture. 💋 Graphic sex scenes. All consensual. 🔚 No cliff hangers. The stand alone first book in the Specter Series. "
