Chapter 1

¨PRINCESS GWENEVERE GET DOWN FROM THERE INSTANTLY!! AND LET ME IN!!¨

Xavier my personal guard shouts from the other side of my bedroom door. A small laugh escapes my throat but I dont move an inch from the edge. I'm so tired... Tired of trying to be perfect... Tired of being beaten into submission by my father the king of Deaths Pyre. And its only gotten worse since my brother Ran off and got married to Princess Iris from the kingdom of Jaguars and Serpents. I take another step towards the edge of my balcony and look over the ledge to the cool concrete below and then glance up at the sunset ignoring the Shouts of worry and anger trying to break my door down.. The last Sunset I will ever see, Its breathtaking how the colors all blend together to create something as stunning as this. How can the sky still be so kind to us after all that has occured, How can beauty such as this exist in a world of terror in a world of death, Poison and Lies. The door to my room slams open as Xavier rushes in, but its too late im already falling there's no point. I close my eyes smiling to myself as I wait to feel the pain of the Impact when I hit the ground.

But it never comes.....

And that's when I realize that im not falling but quite the opposite, I'm flying but Im not alone... Not anymore as someone whispers in my ear a sweet lullaby that I have not heard since my mother died.

¨Rest dear child your are free, I will carry you to eternity. Rest your head on my shoulder rest your weary eyes, No need to fear another day for I have come to save the day. Rest my dear sleep well, Trust in me to bring to safely to your new home. Now you are safe and now you are free you can rest your weary soul no need to fear the dark again. Rest my dear Angel. Rest until Morning¨

Too scared to open my eyes I lean against the stranger hoping that by trusting him im not signing my soul over to the Devil himself.
