Chapter 1
I know a land of no violence.
A land where cat and mouse hold hands in friendship
A land where roaches and fowls eat at the same table
Where lions and humans live in the same estate
I know a land of beauty.
Where the sun rises in the morning to kiss the mountains
Where the moon hugs the cloud in friendship
And Stars dance through the night
I know a land of serenity
Where the sun rises from the east and sets in the west
The North-East Trade wind and South-West Monsoon wind blow with ease
The rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full and there is no flood
I know a land of harmony
Where Palm Trees stand to compliment Carpet Grass
Where Africa never dies and ‘yellow queen of Philippines’ advertise their beauty in harmony
And ‘Sunflower’ tells the whole world how beautiful Pride of Barbados is
I know a place where She that brought me forth resides
A land that I hope to be someday
Where we’ll meet and part no more
I know a city called HEAVEN
