I open my eyes slowly, as I slowly adjust to the blinding light coming through the window. Once my eyes are fully adjusted I slowly look around my little hut.
My eyes look over the familiar items as I take note of what is there. I see my favorite and only bag laying in the corner behind my small pot of flour and my only book.
My hut isn’t that big but I love it anyway. I slowly get up and stretch before walking over to my bag. I rummage through it making sure all my stuff is there.
I pull out my charms, the necklace that I got from my mom, my charm bracelet, my small knives, my anklets, my waterproof container, and finally all of my clothes.
My bag is small but it is one that I got from my mother before she died. It is special because although it is super small and fits inside of my necklace. My necklace also came from my mom. It is the size of a choker and gold. The charm on it looks like a scroll holder but smaller.
My mom told me that this can hold everything I need it to, and it will help me when I need it. I put all of my charms on my bracelet and anklets before putting them on. I shove my stuff into the bag and put it in my necklace.
As I start to walk over to my pallet to start my Zen, I hear the trampling of hooves. Quickly I take out my bag and put my bracelets, anklets, pallet, a pot of flour, and my book in there before snapping my fingers.
The hut shrinks as I walk out. I pick it up and throw it in the bag before shoving it in the necklace, screwing it closed, and taking off at a sprint.
I don’t know who these people are but they have been following me. For the last five days, I haven't been able to do my Zen because they come at that time.
I spare a glance behind and see them gaining ground on the horses they ride. While looking behind me I trip on a rock. Instead of falling, I turn it into a front handspring and keep running.
They holler at me to wait and talk for a second first, then they will leave me alone. I keep running but think for a second. In the end, I slow before coming to a complete stop.
They come around to surround me, I see that there are 3 people but I can’t see their faces. They are all wearing black and have masks over their faces.
“You're coming with us.” One of them said, but I couldn’t tell which one though.
Before I can react, I feel a sharp pain in the back of my neck before being pulled under by a wave of darkness.
