Lost ring

I wake up from my peaceful sleep to a glass shattering on the floor. I flinch awake, triggered by the loud sudden sound. I look around my room in a panic until I see a tall blonde standing sheepishly by my dresser. I sit up in my bed so I could stare bitterly at the guilty-looking boy.

“Why?” I simply ask in a tired voice. “The one rule that I say never to brake!” I try to shout at the boy but fail because of my groggy voice. “Clean that up!” I yell at him while he runs out of my bedroom door. I sigh, irritated that he poked around my alter.

I get out of my bed, walking over to my closet. I look through it for a few minutes before I find my hoodie. I slip on the brown mushroom hoodie over my tank top. I look at my fingers to see that my Celtic ring is gone.

“TOMAS SIMON, I SWEAR IF YOU TOOK MY GOD FOR SAKEN RING I WILL LITERALLY BE DREAM AND MANHUNT YOU! YOU USELESS LIZARD COME FIGHT ME BITCH!” I yell at the top of my lungs, not caring if anyone heard. I run out into the hallway and march down the stairs furiously. I walk into the kitchen to see the blonde sitting at the dining table, talking into his phone.

“TOMAS, HOW DARE YOU TAKE MY CELTIC RING!” I shout. He looks up from his phone to look at me, he presses a button on the screen. “What did he do Willow?” Someone asks from the phone.

“OH, I GOT A STORY FOR YOU! FIRST, I WAKE UP TO HIM RUMMAGING THROUGH MY GOD DAMN ALTER. SECOND HE STOLE MY LITERAL LIFE OR DEATH RING. AND I CAN SEE IT ON HIS THUMB!” I explain loudly.

“Tommy, why did you do that?” The person asks. I now realize that it’s the boy that we were supposed to meet in a few hours, Tubbo. “Hello by the way Tubbo!” I say cheerfully, changing in mood quickly. “Hi!” He responds with the same enthusiasm.

“How is that ring life or death?” Tommy asks hesitantly. I narrow my eyes at his suspicion. “Ich brauche es, sonst züchte ich einen Schuppenschwanz-Idioten,” I explain angerly in German. (You’ll find out what it means in the coming chapters.)

“Willow, speak English!” Tommy complains. “Go dtí baño.” I say, switching to Irish to Spanish. -To in Irish, bad in Spanish- “Why do you do this Willow?” Tommy complains again.

“Comment est-ce que c’est?” I ask in French. -How’s this? In French- “Mieux,” Tommy says. We both speak French, from the multiple vacations there. “What the hell are you guys saying?” Tubbo asks with a chuckle.

“I’m arguing with Tommy in different languages,” I explain with a giggle. Tubbo lets out a little laugh, “that’s my specialty.” I add. “Do you know where Sarah and David are?” I ask Tommy. “They both left for work I believe,” he explains. Sarah and David are Tommy’s parents. They are the ones who raised me.

“Can I have my ring back?” I ask the blonde. “How about no,” he says with a deadpanned expression. “Tous puissants m’aident à combattre ce lézard inutile.” I say with a sigh. -All mighty help me fight this useless lizard, in French-

“Non, non, non, non.” He says in a panic. -No, in French- “SI!” I yell, lunging towards the boy. -Yes, in Spanish- I knock him to the ground, his phone still on the table. “GET EM!” Tubbo yells from the phone.

I push him to the ground, so he is laying on his stomach. I put my foot on his back, careful not to lean all my weight on my foot. “Give it to me,” I order. “Why can’t I steal some of your things? You steal my jumpers all the time,” he says. Tubbo muffles a snicker from the phone.

“Not funny Tubbo,” I say rolling my eyes playfully. “Aw, but it is.” He laughs. “Tommy, seriously give it back.” I reason. “Why is it so important?” He sighs. “Ich brauche es, sonst züchte ich einen Schuppenschwanz-Idioten.” I repeat in German.

“WILL!” Tommy exclaims angrily. I exhale heavily. I take my foot off of Tommy’s back, allowing him to stand up. Once he stands up, he sits back down in his seat at the table. “Anyways,” he says sticking out his tongue at me. I return the gestor. “I can’t wait to see you guys!” Tubbo exclaims excitedly.

“I’m so excited to see you both as well! And Brighton.” I say. Tommy and I planned to meet Wilbur and Tubbo in Brighton later today. We planned to stay at a hotel for a few days. “When do we have to go again?” Tommy asks. “Eleven,” I answer. “It’s eight right now so we have some time till we have to go,” I explain. Tommy nods in response.

“I can’t wait to go to the beach!” Tubbo exclaims. My mood instantly drops. What if I drop my ring while I’m in the water? What if I lose it in the sand? What if I get water on me when I’m asleep and I don’t have my ring on? My thoughts are interrupted by Tommy talking, “yeah, that would be fun to go to the beach.”

“Why don’t we go to the beach more often?” Tommy asks me. I look at him confused. Tommys’ parents never let me go swimming with Tommy, not wanting him to know I’m a mermaid.

Yes, Tommy doesn’t know I’m a mermaid. I kept it from him my whole life.

“I umm,” I try to say. “Tommy, can I talk to you in private?” Tubbo asks, saving me without knowing it. “Sure,” Tommy says getting up and going upstairs. I decide to shake off my suspicions and go get some coffee from the shops. I decide not to ask Tommy if he wants something, because he doesn’t drink coffee.

Tommys POV:

I walk up the stairs to my bedroom, shutting the door behind me. “What’s up Tubs?” I ask into the phone, sitting on my unmade bed. “The second time Willow said that sentence, I recorded it.” He says solemnly. “What did she say?” I ask, now very curious. “She said something odd in German.” He explains.

“What did she say?” I repeat my question.

“She said, “I need it or else I’ll grow a scaled tail, idiot." He says, his voice laced with confusion.

"Do you know what that means, Tommy?" Tubbo asks.

"I- I don't know," I stammer.
