Soldiars

Jinx Berli gets up from her chair "I change my mind. I want the king here in two weeks. Soldiars will be picked to leave tonight in the Relic building." She walks out of the building and across the old street she hops over a fallen lampost to get to the undergroumd subway. I want to be a soldiar, I think to myself. 'But your a girl!' Mami will say. I decide to see if i'm right because i'm on my feet the next thing I know. I squeeze through the crowded building, disturbed conversations filling the room.

As soon as I escape the the room a shoulder hits mine and I fall to the ground my revealing the books I carry in my bag. I wince as i see blood seeping through my pants. I look to see who caused my fall and see a man around my age offering his hand I dicide not to take it and stand up by myself. Instead he bends down and takes the books on the ground that i was about to pickup. "Here" he says handing me the books. "Thanks..." I say grabbing them and shoving them into my bag quickly. I turn around and keep walking back to my house but he follows "I never got your name." He says with a smile walking beside me. "Now why would I give my name to a boy who made me fall and didn't even say sorry." I say turning a corner, almost there then i'm done with this guy. "Sorry." He says. We reach my house and as I walk up the path I shout: "Finn" then I walk even faster into my house i open and shut the door quickly. And when I glance out the window he's gone into the night.

I can't get distracted by a boy I think, apling a wrap to where the ground sliced me. I need to go to the relic building, be chosen as a soldiar, and come back all before Mami comes home in two hours. I also need tk have dinner ready. I slide on my leather pants and leather top, I slide a brush through my hair and jump into my shoes. I open and close the door once again.

I walk around the corner past the subway and palace where Jinx Berli lives with her prince Hunter Kuil and his mother Queen Abigail. The king died long ago but Hunter never took his place.

I arrive the the relic building hoping not to see anyone I know. Although I don't know anyone. I enter the room titled Choosing Soldiar and sit in the second closest row to the front. No one sits beside me which is why I sit. An older women, a palace maid comes down row to row asking for names. She reaches me. "Name?" She says her glasses look they are about to fall of her large nose. "Finn SinClair" I say, she looks me up and down. "Why are you here honey?" She asks me. "What?" I say confused "She needs a big strong man or woman." She responds like it's painted in bold on the wall. "I am just as strong as him" I say pointing to a scrawny man sitting a few chairs down. The women smacks her lips "Robert is a lot stronger then he looks." She says, before I can respond she moves on to the next person. I am strong. Maybe she's right. I am not more then 100 pounds. I am skinny and small. Five foot and 100 pounds. Why would the soon to be Queen choose me to capture the King of Alaici.

I am just about to get up and leave, spare my embaresment when I hear a plop and a voice saying "Leaving so soon?" Him. The boy who caused my blood then proceded to walk home. "Well now I am." I say taking a few steps before being inturupted again "Come on your no fun!" He says. "I am fun" I mutter sitting back down, arms crossed. He sits beside me. This is uncomfortable, I say to myself.

"So you are signing up to be a soldiar?" He asks me. I nod and say "you?" "Yeah, my father says that Jinx needs help and that my father doesn't." He says his goofy mood changing quickly. "I never got your name." I say after a minute. "Brett" he says. The old woman announces every one to the door where she stands and to make a line. I get up and get the the line but I lost Brett when I get inline I realise he's infront of me.

He is tall, probably 6 foot. He has wavy brown hair and his face is clean cut. He has subtle green eyes and a defined jawline. He is skinny but still strong.

He walks into the curtained room and I follow. But he's still annoying. The room is wood planks floor and ceiling.

Jinx sits in a chair she is beatiful. She has long silky black hair and big brown eyes her skin is peachy tan. She wears eyeliner that starts at the inner corner of her eye and is guided by her eye and under the wing is a small triangle on either side.

Everyone lines up on the wall including me I stand inbetween Robert the scrawny boy and Brett. Jinx paces infront of us, I don't know what she's thinking but I hope she starts talking soon because we have been here an hour now and I need to get home before Mami notices I am gone. "Hello, I will be picking 7 out of 50 of you to be my soldiars, if any of you fail training you will be cut and replaced immedietly. You are currently being judged on your strength and attidude." Suddenly I stand a little taller. "My soldiars names will apear on that decoy wall. If your name is printed don't move I will give you instructions then if your name isn't on the wall go home. The best of luck to all of you."

The names apear on the wall:

1. Daniel Hucle

2. Zonia Feild

3. Brett Smith

4. Paris Grilis

5. Hailey MattsBurg

6. Jack Jones

7. Finn SinClair
