Betrayal
All of it became a blur. The memories, the places, the emotions- all felt like it had amounted to nothing. The joys and pains felt nothing more than a gust of wind that comes by and goes along its way. How did it become like this? Words were spoken and hopes were suddenly left to lie and dry out in the sun. It is funny that so much changed by the uttering of a few words, but hearing every one of those syllables leaves a heart heavy with emptiness. At the moment the mind realizes that people aren’t always who you thought they were, or who you wanted them to be, the spirit within fades a little more. The little echoes of joy and laughter linger within the mind, haunting and peeking out from corners, taunting and mocking the heart.
