Chapter 1 - Wednesday Morning

Day 1

Here is your room ma'am. We set sail at noon." The maid says to me. "Thank you." She sits my luggage on the bed. We stare at each other. "Am I... excused?" The maid askes, confused. "Oh. Yes. My apologies, Your excused." She courtesies and leaves. I look around and spot a desk. 'So, this is a first class bedroom?' I sit at the desk. "Hm." I tap my nails on the top. I stand up and go to the bed. I sit down and open my bag. I pull out the storybook and flip through the pages until I land on the writing.

"This shall change you, who you are. It shall build you up when the past is trying to bring you down. Because of it, you will make sacrafices you never knew possible. This... complicated, but astounding thing shall ease the pain I inflicted upon you, my little girl. Because of this, you will, not drown, but sink, in love.

With more love than,

even I, can explain - Mama

I reside it, knowing every word. I sigh and check the clock. 11:45. I look around the room for a while until I feel the ship start to move.

I find my way to the deck of the ship. I sigh in relief as I place my hands on the railing, watching Southhampton fade away. 'I made it. I'm going to New York. Hopefully things will be better.' I hear my stomach growl. I turn and make my way to the dining hall.

"Hello ma'am. What can I get you?" The woman looks at me. "Could I get a coffee? And maybe some bread and butter?" The woman smiles. "Of course." She leaves. I lean back in my chair and look out the window. 'I'm tired.' I yawn and close my eyes. A few moments later the woman brings my food and coffee. "Thank you." The woman nods and leaves. I start eating.

Once i'm finished, I stand and turn to leave..........

I smack right into a man.

Before I can react, we go tumbling to the dining hall floor. His deep brown eyes meet with my blue ones, shocked. We're silent for a moment. I realize that I'm practically laying on top of this man and quickly get up. He stands and clears his throat. "I'm sorry." We both quickly say. "It's my fault, I should've been paying more attention." I brush myself off. "It's fine." He furrows his brows in concern. "I hope the fall wasn't to hard?" I smile. "I'm okay." He nods. I turn and start to walk off. 'I shouldn't.' Ignoring my thoughts, I look back at the man. He waves and smiles. I wave back and return to my room.
