Meeting Harry Potter

Harry Potter was an ordinary 17 year old wizard. He was running to his classes with Ron and Hermione at his sides. He knew that Snape was going to kill him for being late for class. They soon arrived, panting and clutching their sides. Harry had been born with Cerebral Palsy and the kind that he had was called Spastic Diaplega, which meant that his leg muscles spasmed a ton and it hurt a lot. “I’m sorry, Professor. We overslept.” gasped Harry. They all sat down in their seats and a while later, Harry felt his leg muscles tighten and he gasped loudly, crying out in pain. They started making their potions and taking notes. Harry noticed Draco Malfoy was looking at him. Harry went back to his notes and when he looked up again, Draco was staring at him again. Harry had fallen in love with Draco Malfoy in 2nd year. He wanted to tell him how he felt, but was too scared. Harry got out a piece of parchment and wrote Draco a letter.

Dear Draco,

I was born with Cerebral Palsy, which is a disease that is difficult to explain. It affects my leg muscles and my brain doesn’t listen to my legs very much. I wear leg braces all the time to help me walk. Sometimes they hurt a lot because they rub up against my feet. Everyone isn’t as they seem. My life with my aunt and uncle, as well as my older cousin, Dudley, hasn’t been easy. They like to lock me in my cupboard under the stairs every time I accidentally do magic around them. Sometimes, I get no food or water for days as a punishment, and other days, I get the crap beaten out of me.I hope that one day, you can rescue me from my relatives.

Sincerely,

Harry James Potter

Harry stood up and he felt pain in his legs, but he ignored it. He stood and pretended to spill his ink bottle near Draco’s desk. He put the letter on Draco’s desk and went back to his seat. Harry watched Draco open the letter and read it. Draco then pulled out his own paper and wrote a note back.

Harry,

I have also liked you for a while. Ever since our first year, really. My father taught me that you were pampered like a prince. I sadly know the truth now. I accept your request for being with you and I will promise to keep you safe, no matter what the consequences may be. I will love you forever and always.

Love,

Draco

Draco put the letter on Harry’s desk and waited. Harry opened it and read it. They continued working on their potions until class was over. Harry’s legs felt a little funny, like they were heavy or filled with concrete, but he could still walk. Harry went back to his dormitory and laid on his bed. He closed his eyes and thought about Draco. The next morning, Harry woke up and snuck out of Gryffindor tower and into Slytherin to wake up Draco for breakfast. Harry crept towards the blonde’s bed. His curtains were drawn closed as the raven-haired boy leaned in close to Draco’s ear and whispered, “Draco. Get up. Time for breakfast.” Draco woke up and saw Harry standing by his bed. “Harry James! Why would you wake me up?” Draco hissed softly. Harry grinned and grabbed Draco’s hand and pulled him out of bed. Draco got dressed and Harry stood watching him. “Like what you see, Potter?” said Draco. Harry went with Draco down to the Great Hall for breakfast. Harry only ate a little, claiming that he was full.

After breakfast, Harry noticed his legs felt funny. Harry tried to stand, but fell back on the floor. “Draco.” Harry whispered. “Dray.” He said out loud. Draco jumped. “What?! What’s wrong?” Harry gestured to his legs. “I can’t move them! I can feel them, but I can’t move them!” He cried, hugging Draco tightly. Draco carried Harry down the stairs and set him on the couch. “Stay here. I’ll be right back.” Draco said, with a smirk. “Like I can go anywhere, Dray!” Harry said, laughing his ass off.

Draco came back a few minutes later. He picked up Harry and placed him in a wheelchair that Draco had transfigured from an old couch. Harry belted himself in so that he couldn’t fall out. He and Draco made their way to the Great Hall. Harry had to get used to rolling himself when Draco wasn’t in his classes. He practiced in the Room of Requirement when he had a free period during the day. By the end of the week, Harry was having a race with Draco, Ron and Hermione down to Potions.
