Chapter 1
A few Imperial wagons filled with Stormcloak prisoners entered Helgen. One wagon was occupied by Ulfric Stormcloak, a strong Stormcloak warrior who went by Ralof, and some horse thief who came from Rorikstead. When the wagons stopped at Helgen where they would spend their remaining few days before they would be met with a gruesome death at the chopping block. As the prisoners were unloaded from the wagons, the horse thief ran away, but quickly got shot down.
As the prisoners were brought into the keep, which stored the prison cells, a large shadow flew through the clouds, followed by a huge roar. Everybody heard the sound, but nobody saw the shadow.
2 days later, the Western Watchtower was destroyed by what was believed to be a dragon. There was only one survivor. He was critically injured, with one arm burnt to a crisp.
After that, reinforcements were sent to Riverwood and Helgen. Unfortunately, no amount of preparation would hold up against what happened 2 days later.
All seemed peaceful in Helgen. The market was busy, people were hanging out together, and guards were patrolling the skies. But all of that changed when an Imperial soldier hollered “DRAGON!!!”.
A large shadow hovered through the clouds. Then 2 more shadows came into sight. The soldiers pulled their bows out. The siege horns were played. Everybody was guided into the keep. More and more shadows popped into sight.
Then, multiple dragons swooped down towards Helgen. They started to breathe fire at the soldiers, roasting them. The Imperials started to open fire at the dragons. A dragon swooped down and bashed a hole into a tower, crushing an Imperial soldier with the rubble.
More and more dragons swooped down and attacked Helgen, taking more and more guards out. At this point, multiple buildings had been reduced to ruins. And many Imperial lives had been lost.
Dragons kept coming, taking more lives as they came; the Imperials didn’t stand a chance. The dragons seemed unbeatable. Only a few dragons had been defeated by the Imperials.
Another few dragons came down and destroyed another house, lit a few guards on fire on their way back to the clouds, just to come back down and repeat.
Helgen lacked artillery. It was not made to stand up against dragons either. One of the only places in all of Skyrim that was made to defend against dragons was Whiterun, where a dragon was even captured at some point in time.
At this point, the Imperials started to retreat into the keep, but the dragons beat them there; they had already destroyed the keep. All the Imperials could do now was wait for their demise.
One by one, the Imperials were sent to Sovngard, and Helgen crumbled down.
