Summary

"You must be absolutely mad,if you think ill believe your profane ideologies, and indulge this hypocrisy" she spoke to him with such disgust and rage,as though the words seared her tongue as she uttered them. "Your believe is of little importance little lady,i should slit your throat and spill your guts for showing such rebellion and speaking so abominably" he said still not looking up. She straightened her back and focused her attention even more on him as she said "I dare you" and for the first time...he raised his head to meet a gaze so fierce.

Chapter 1

I strolled through the bushes lazily as the sun shone fiercely above, scorching and tiresome. I wondered why we had to do these stupid chores everyday, why was life so hard anyway. Oh how I wished life was easier, and I didn't have to take this long walk to the stream just to get a pitcher of water, that would barely be enough for two people,I sighed.

"Inga! Inga!" I saw Mary running up to me,panting heavily,as she came to a stop before me. "Mary, are you quite alright?what's the matter"

"I swear by the gods, you must be deaf inga. I've been screaming your name so loudly,I'm pretty sure I scared all the birds around away but you just kept on walking away like your ears were stuffed. You're lucky it wasn't your mum, you'd be taking a serious beating by now, just what were you thinking."

I sighed " I was just sulking about the chores all young girls in the village must do daily mary, like don't you get tired? Do you never wish life was easier?" She smiled and took my hand in hers as we continued walking down the path to the stream." Inga, wishes are for fools dear. We ought to learn to be content with what we have, the gods teach us so. Yes,sometimes it gets a little tiring, frustrating even, but it's all part of life, these daily chores and errands and the likes slowly makes up our life experience and for that we should be thankful."

I smiled,I guess this is why we're best of friends, where I tend to be extreme Mary is always there like a kite string to pull me back."I guess we should hurry,it's the young men's festival after all, there's much to do." Mary drew close to my ears and whispered" last to get to stream would eat bugs" and with that, she sped off, running so heartily ahead of me,and I wasn't about to let her win.
