Just another sleepless night.
Great.
I've lost count of how many nights I've spent staring at the ceiling. I thought maybe a change of scenery would help me, but I was wrong.
Not to mention my new neighbors and their raging parties at night, they definitely didn't help with my trouble.
At that moment, the whole universe was against me. I was tired and beyond frustrated, the lack of sleep really took a toll on my body and mind. Ever since the accident, I was having trouble with sleeping, and if somehow I managed to fall asleep, nightmares were so intense that a few times I thought everything is happening again.
After many useless sessions with my therapist, I decided to rent a small vacation house in the mountains, and just enjoy nature and quiet, on my own. I needed to get away from all those people trying to help me, I couldn't stand the sympathetic smiles any longer, I hated being pitied. I had to run away and hide for some time.
This vacation house wasn't very far from the city and I was very pleased when I saw there were not many neighboring houses. Just imagine my shock when I saw people gathering around the house next door, with their loud car engines and the biggest music speakers I've ever seen in my entire life.
I tried to ignore it, I even closed the windows and pulled the blinds down just to kill some noise, but everything was useless. I even turned on the white noise on my phone but that only made the situation worse. This was the third night in a row, and I couldn't take in any more, so I decided to do something.
I practically jumped from my bed, put my flip-flops on, and stormed out of the house. I decided to find the owner of the house, or whoever was in charge there, and politely, without much yelling and cursing, ask to turn the music down.
After almost five minutes of involuntary mingling with drunk and sweaty bodies and trying to find out who the person of the night was, I stormed out of the house frustrated and tried to think about my next move. Just before I decided it was not worth my time and energy, I lifted my gaze and saw a tall figure upstairs on a terrace, intensively looking at me. I immediately went up the stairs towards the mystery person but I saw him disappearing behind the double doors before I could talk to him.
God, this was beyond frustrating. I must've been a friggin Hitler in my previous life because no ordinary person can have such bad luck.
Encouraging myself internally, I decided to knock on the door and see what happens. Maybe this person is also sick of this loud party, so there's a small possibility we'll agree on turning it down and calling it a night.
I knocked once and waited, but nothing happened. I knocked again, still nothing. Maybe he couldn't hear it because of the loud music, so I simply pushed the door open and prayed for the best.
The room was dark, the only source of the light was a tall lamp in the corner of the room. I couldn't see much, but the light was bright enough to show there is someone in the room.
I couldn't peel my eyes from him. He was sitting in the middle of the sofa like it was his throne. He was wearing a white long-sleeve button-up with all buttons undone, and I could see his muscular heavily tattooed chest and perfect abs. His hair was dark, I couldn't tell the color because of the dimmed lights in the room, but it was perfectly styled and slicked back.
He was smoking his cigarette and coldly staring at me like he was challenging me to say something, but being the pathetic little creature I am, I couldn't find the words. I froze in my spot when I saw him getting up from the sofa and coming towards me, just to take my arm and drag me inside the room and close the door afterward.
I was too much of a coward to turn around and face him, so I remained glued to my spot. He took a step or two and came dangerously close to me, I could practically hear him breathing.
"Is this better?" - I flinched at the sound of his deep voice. He put his hands on my waist and rotated me, so now I was facing him. I instinctively put my hand on his chest just to keep some distance between us, but that move only resulted in him moving closer to my body.
"This is very wrong. I should leave." - my voice came almost as a whisper because I was more concentrated on calming my erratic breathing than controlling my voice. Not the mention I completely forgot the reason why I came here in the first place, the only important thing now was to escape this man and this place.
"You completely forgot about the noise issue?" - he stated calmly. "You even failed to notice the noise completely disappeared the moment I closed the door."
He was right. I couldn't hear a sound. I looked around the room like I was looking for an answer to how is this possible, but to be honest, I only wanted to break this weird eye contact and maybe gain a bit of courage to escape his hold too.
"This floor is soundproof. I have trouble with my night sleep as well." - he explained.
The next thing I know, I got lifted off the ground. He took me in his arms and started walking towards another door, and when he opened it, I saw it was a bedroom. I tried to push him and wiggle in his hold, but he was way too stronger than me, and I had a strength of a butterfly.
"God, this is wrong, you can't do this to me. Let me go, please. I won't come here ever again, I'll leave first thing in the morning amd never come back, just let me go." - I screamed and thrashed against him, but that didn't bother him at all. He simply dropped me down on a surprisingly soft bed. Momentarily, I moved backward so my back hit the headboards and I stayed glued to the spot.
He effortlessly took his shirt off, as well as his pants, and joined me in the bed like we were an old married couple. I was beyond scared and couldn't believe this was actually happening. I tried to get up from the bed but he pushed me down and moved closer to his body.
"Shhh, trust me, I won't hurt you. You need this sleep as much as I do. Just lay down and relax, if you still couldn't fall asleep, I'll let you go." - he pushed me closer so he was practically spooning me.
"I can't believe this is happening." - I sighted. That was all I could say.
I was beyond tired so it's not a surprise I didn't have any strength to fight him. He was holding me tight and I began to relax, to melt in his arms, and the next thing I know, I was slowly drifting off to sleep. Before I totally blacked out, I heard him saying "good night, precious".
