It was after school in the club room when Tanaka wouldn't stop talking about how gorgeous Kiyoko was. At this point, almost the whole team knew that Ennoshita liked Tanaka. It pained everyone when they saw Ennos's eyes as he pretended to be interested in the conversations with Tanaka, he always sounded so cheerful for his best friend even though it pained him when he always talked about the girls he liked. Enno still always puts on a smile but any decent person who looked into his eyes could see something was wrong.
What the average convo between Enno and Tanaka is like
Ennoshita POV
*God why is he so handsome he shouldn't be legal*
“ Enno, Kiyoko likes me I know it!”
“That's great Tanaka, I’m glad”
“ I can’t wait till I find a girl”
“I’m sure she’s out there have patience”s

Suga is waking to morning practice with Daichi when they hear what sounds like crying and soft murmurs
Suga POV
“ Hey, Daichi do you hear that?”
“Yeah I do let’s check it out”
Suga and Daichi ran towards ( you know like the parents they CAn be) the crying and find Ennoshita in a corner of the restroom crying with a blade in his hand.
“Holy shit Enno don't you dare!”Suga runs over next to Ennoshita and very carefully grabs the blade he was holding
“Enno what are you doing?”
“Shit, nothing”
Enno can’t even look at Suga. Daichi is just at the entrance to the restroom processing what he saw.
“Enno PLEASE tell me”
“ I’m not good enough Suga, people call me names and make fun of me for being a benchwarmer it’s not fucking fair! Worst of all the guy I have fallen head over heels for is straight and I can’t even look him in the eyes without wanting to cry !”
“ Enno, being a benchwarmer is completely normal and great just because you don’t get to play all the time doesn’t lessen your value. And Tanaka does like you he just doesn't want to believe it.”
Daichi finally comes over and sits next to Ennoshita and Suga. He goes to rub Ennoshitas's back when he sees Enno flinch at the gesture.
“ Hey, Ennoshita are you okay?”
“Daichi what kind of question is that he just tried to fucking cut himself” I sharply whisper
“I-I’m fine Daichi why do you ask?”
Daichi slowly pulls up Ennoshitas's shirt to see a bunch of bruises and burns.
“Holy SHIT Enno WHO dId this?”
“Don't yell please"
“I'm sorry Ennoshita, but really who did this?”
“It was my........”
