My Big Neighbor Troll

In the warmest month of summer, the Sato family went to Kyoukta to visit Theo and Keith's grandparents; namely Magoth and Nami Sato, on the other hand Kambe and Mei Sato are Keith and Theo's parents. Theo is an 11 year old boy and at Kyoukta he met his friends, Kanta and Saki while Keith is a 5 year old boy who likes to play around and even small things can easily catch his attention. Unfortunately, Mrs. Nami, their grandma, is sick and has been hospitalized in Kyoukta. Despite the fact that Mr. Magoth and Mrs. Nami's house is known as mysterious, they still have good and caring neighbors. Because their place is known as mysterious, Theo and Keith started to notice strange phenomena inside and outside of their house.

One day when Mr. Kambe asks Theo and Keith to open the kitchen door at the back portion of the house, "Theo, Keith, can you open the door in the kitchen? I have the keys.", "Sure papa". After Theo got the keys and opened the kitchen door, they were shocked to see round shaped black creatures, like flying spiders that blocked their way and covered the whole kitchen. "AAAHHH", Keith shouted as he noticed the creature that looked like a flying spider and hid behind his brother's back as soon as he saw the flying spiders. As they stood motionless in front of the door, their eyes were shocked like they're coming out of their head. The black round dust bunny begins to hide and they all fly to a small whole in the wall that is made out of wood. Now Mrs. Mei asks Theo and Keith again to open the windows upstairs,"Theo, I'm scared", said Keith. When they saw the stairs they felt goosebumps. It was dark and you will hear the creaking sound of the wood stairs as you step in it, Theo runs as fast as he can to open the windows so there will be light, as Theo is running, Keith follows him and sees again the black round dust bunny that flies again to a small hole in the wall. After what happened, Theo and Keith told their grandpa about these black round like spiders flying that they saw, " Oh, don't worry my boys, it has lived in our house these past few years until now. But lucky you are to have seen them, and my father said that they are called dust bunny and you know what?, when you all smile and laugh louder, when people in this house are happy, these dust bunnies begins to fly away in the sky at night and it will return if Theo and Keith will be sad ". Theo and Keith begin to laugh and have a big smile while running around the house after what grandpa Magoth told them.

The next day, the Sato family went to the hospital to visit Mrs. Nami. "Hello my boys, did you have a good sleep?", ask grandma Nami to Theo and Keith while kissing them on the forehead. The two boys told their grandma about what they saw the other day and grandma Nami promised them that when she's out of the hospital they will sleep together under the beautiful moon and stars in the sky. After they spent a precious time with their grandma, Theo and his friends went out to play while Keith had to go home. "Hey, Theo, do you want to visit my house? It's near the sea. ", "Sure Kanta". "Let's go guys, let's ride my bicycle", Saki said. The three went out and enjoyed their time.

Meanwhile, Keith decided to play in their garden and he noticed some strange things. He saw these shiny bright like golden nuts in the ground and it looked like it was coming from the bush to the forest. He picked the golden nuts one by one until he saw this invisible bunny walking in the garden, not just one but he saw two of them with different sizes. Those bunnies should not be seen but Keith could see them. The bunnies ran towards the forest when they noticed that Keith could see them. Keith followed those two until he went inside in a small way like a cave of leaves and he reached a very big tree called camphor tree which under it lives a troll. He met there, the three look like bunnies but they have different sizes, Keith called them Trolls. After Keith crawled to this tiny cave of leaves and jumped into a hole under the camphor tree, "What is your name?". Keith asked the very big looking bunny that is sleeping and he climbed above its big stomach. While Keith is sitting above his stomach, "Your name is Troll" . Keith named the big looking bunny as Troll while pointing at him. Soon he enjoys jumping above its stomach and begins to play with its nose. Time passes by and Keith suddenly falls asleep above Troll's stomach. It was getting dark but Mrs. Mei could not find Keith. As Theo arrived at home after hanging out with his friends, he helped his parents find Keith, he saw Keith's hat in the bush and called his dad. "Papa, I think Keith went this way ", as Theo pointed to the bush through the forest. Then, Theo and his papa crawled to a cave of leaves and at the end of it they saw Keith sleeping on the ground. They brought Keith in the house and as soon Keith woke up, " Grandpa! Theo! I saw a very big Troll! ". Theo didn't believe Keith but their grandpa told them that Keith is lucky. "Listen boys, they are the guardian of this forest and they are our neighbor, lucky for Keith he has seen them, now I want you to go to the shrine tomorrow and give thanks to them and ask them for their care". The next morning, the two boys followed what their grandpa Magoth said.

One night when Mr. Kambe needed to attend an important meeting in the city, Theo and Keith waited for their papa in the bus stop because it was raining and Mr. Kambe forgot to bring his umbrella. There are already two buses that passed by but Mr. Kambe is not there yet. It's dark and you can hear the sound of the strong wind, rain drops, the croaking of the frogs and rattle noises of grass, leaves and branches of trees. While Theo and Keith are waiting and it is still raining, they suddenly see a very big foot that stands beside them. They looked up and saw what it could be. "Theo, that's my friend troll", whispered Keith. Theo then saw that it is actually true and it is very big, he also noticed that the troll has a big leaf above his head. "Let's give him papa's umbrella", Theo said. Then, they gave their papa's umbrella to their friend and taught him how to use it to avoid getting wet from the rain. The troll was very happy and heavily jumping from joy every time he heard the sound of the drops of rain above the umbrella. The troll then shouted as if it was calling for someone.

"Look Keith, there is another bus coming. Maybe it's papa's bus". The two boys are confused looking at the bus coming because it is too fast, jumping and floating in the air.

" A flying cat bus!! " they shouted together. They saw their friend troll going inside the cat bus. But after the cat bus left, the troll gave the two boys a gift as a thank you for the umbrella. Then Theo and Keith opened it, they were surprised to see inside the gift. It was a bunch of golden nuts, just like what Keith saw last time in the garden. Now, another bus is coming and luckily their papa had arrived and the rain stopped. As they saw their papa going out of the bus they directly hugged him and looked at him happily because they got to see the cat bus and received a gift from their friend troll by waiting for him in the bus stop.

The next day; Theo, Keith and Kanta went to the farm with their neighbor. They brought different kinds of vegetables and fruits and went on a picnic under the large tree beside the farm with a fresh breeze of the wind. That time a mailman went to Mr. Magoth's house but no one was home. Saki brought the mail to Theo, "Theo, there's mail for the Sato family". Theo panicked knowing that the mail was from the hospital and it is about their grandma, they rush and went to a near telephone which is in the main village in Kyoukta because Mr. Magoth together with his parents went to an important transaction in the city, Theo then hurriedly called his papa and told him what happened. "Okay kids, I want you to calm down and wait for us in the house and we will surely inform you about grandma, okay?'' Mrs. Mei added from the telephone. Theo and Keith went home and they were saddened about the news, they started crying out loud. Keith is not complacent after seeing his brother crying so hard outside in the clothesline, he decided to go to the hospital not knowing it could take 3 hours of walking to reach the hospital. Soon when Theo and their neighbors knew that Keith was missing, they panicked and all the neighbors were helping to find him.

Keith is running as fast as he could but because of different directions and he doesn't know which way to the hospital, he got lost. Meanwhile, Theo hardly runs out of breath running barefoot in a rough road finding Keith in every village in Kyoukta. While Theo is running; "Theo! Our neighbors found a slipper in the lake!", said Kanta. "You should look for it, maybe it's Keith's slipper". Then, Theo ran again as fast as he could with bruises and muds in his body to go to the said lake. As soon as he arrived, everybody was searching for a body in the lake, they thought the kid had drowned. The old lady showed Theo the slipper, "Is this his slipper?" asked the old lady while her body was trembling. Theo then, was shocked, his body froze, small tears came out from his eyes , he sighs and takes a deep breath. Then he told his neighbors that "Thank God, the slipper does not belong to Keith",he was relieved and at the same time was very thankful that it was not Keith's slipper. Everyone stayed calm, but Keith was not found yet. It is soon to be dark and Theo is struggling to find his brother. He thinks very deep on what to do to find Keith. He remembers their friends in their neighbor, the trolls and asks their help to find Keith. "Please help me find Keith''. As the troll heard him, he directly brought Theo above the camphor tree and called the cat bus. The troll then told Theo to go inside the cat bus and told the cat bus to change the destination to Keith. After that, the cat bus flew; "Thank You!!" shouted by Theo to their friend.

They looked for Keith around the village and Theo noticed that the people could not see them. Finally they found Keith in the bottom of the plains sitting behind a big rock crying and calling out loud the name of his brother. "Theooooo". As soon as they met, Theo hugged his little brother and realized that Keith ran out of home because he wanted to give the banana that they got from the farm to their grandma Nami. Then, their friend, the cat bus gave them a ride to the hospital.

At the hospital, Mr. Magoth and their parents are having a happy conversation with their grandma Nami. Theo and Keith felt relieved knowing that their grandma is safe, they were happy watching them talking while they were sitting above on a branch of a tree with the cat bus. Keith then secretly put the banana outside the window in the room of their grandma and written on it is, 'For Grandma Nami'. The banana was from the farm that he got for himself but because of the emergency mail they've got from the hospital, Keith was too emotional thinking what will happen to his grandma that is why he ran out of home and wanted to give the banana to his grandma.

After what happened, as days came by, grandma Nami was soon out of the hospital and was given medications but according to the Doctors she will be fine now and no need to be hospitalized. Then, the Sato family are having fun in summer with grandpa Magoth and grandma Nami. The two brothers were very excited and happy as they saw their grandma is home and at night they always sleep beside their grandma as they promised. Theo and Keith will never forget the adventure they experienced with their friend troll. As they promised to see each other again, every summer, Theo and Keith always visit their grandparents in Kyoukta.
