The Last Wedding Of Sami Marniel

“What do you think?”

Brianna looked at Sami. She smiled. “Perfect.”

She took out her invitation, something she had held onto for a long time. She didn’t look happy. On top of the invitation, it read, ‘THE FIRST WEDDING OF SAMANTHA MARNIEL.’

Why did they write that?” Sami asked. “Almost nobody calls me Samantha anymore.”

Brianna nodded. In the entrance room, Maya, Brianna’s daughter, was running around screaming, “I WANT SWEETS! I WANT SWEETS!”

“Maya, you can have sweets at the party. Now be quiet, the guests are coming.”

Maya sat down. In came Jaden Heath, Sami’s fiancé. “So what is this first wedding thing?” he asked.

“Sami’s family keep track of the number of weddings. I’ve been to her aunt Holly’s wedding.” She held out the invitation. It read, ‘THE FOURTH WEDDING OF HOLLY MARNIEL.’

In came Esther Marniel, Sami’s mum. “Samantha!” she cheered. “So this is the lovely guy you are marrying!” She turned over to Jaden. “Today, young man, you join our extended family.” Jaden smiled. “Sami Marniel, may I just say, you have a lovely face.” Sami looked at him. “Thanks?” Jaden went off to the toilets. Or so Sami thought.

“Well, I best be leaving you alone for a bit,” Esther said. “Bye!”

4 minutes later, Colin, a best man, came in, with some rope. He tied Brianna up, then tied Sami up. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” Brianna yelled. He turned away from Sami. He approached Brianna with a large knife.

Sami watched in horror as she realised what had happened. Taking some time to understand the situation, she looked around her.

Well first of all, Brianna’s mouth was now on the floor. Second of all, Colin was coming towards her.

Sami tried to run away, but Colin had locked the door. It was then, as she saw the knife reaching her, that she remembered what Jaden told her before he went.

“Sami Marniel, may I just say, you have a lovely face.”

Jaden did this.

It was the last thought she ever had.

Colin emerged from the room, wearing a fresh new suit. “She’s gone.”

“What?” Jaden tried to act surprised.

“It’s Sami. She’s gone. I can’t find her.”

Jaden knew what happened.

Jaden was the reason she was gone.

He went off, out of the building, and over to Seraret’s River.

Seraret’s River was quite well known. It was also called ‘The River Of The Drowned’ because so many people had died there. Around 2000 people were reported to be at the bottom of the deep river. By the river was a long trail of blood, leading into the river itself.

Colin had did it.

Sami was gone.

Almost.

Because now Jaden had Sami’s face in his hands.

Moments before this, Sami heard voices. Voices from inside Seraret Church.

Then this is to be the last wedding of Samantha Marniel.”

Sami knew they were right.

And they knew they were right.

But something she knew that they didn’t was that she wasn’t gone.

And she certainly wasn’t.
