Adolescence
Harlow had known Dante her whole life, they had been in each other's lives for as long as she could remember, one of the displeasures of growing up in a small town.
Harlow was 14 when she finally noticed him, they were at the same High School. Dante would walk past her house after school, some days Harlow would come out and talk to him. Other days she would just watch him from the window, he would look for her on those days it made her heart happy.
They spent their adolescent years as friends, Dante was always nice to Harlow, always making sure she was ok and checking up on her. Dante was only ever kind to her, made her laugh and was sometimes a little overprotective. They teetered on the edge of friends and more than friends for a while. The more time they spent together, the more her feelings for him grew. Harlow was falling in love with Dante and it terrified her. Dante would disappear from school for days at a time, doing drugs and drinking alcohol with his friends. He would return to school just in time to catch the bus home, they would sit together and talk but Harlow knew he would never remember their conversations and it saddened her. Harlow began to withdraw from her friendship with Dante, she too turned to drugs and alcohol. If it was good enough for him it was good enough for her. Harlow buried her feelings for Dante with endless drunken parties and getting into trouble until one day she had to move to a new High School. Harlow never saw Dante again but he was always on her mind.
