Bee
Bee is what our father would call me before he was a mad man.
“Bee, it is time for dinner!” Our dad told me when he came into my room. I was super excited since I wanted to have ice cream after dinner with you. I sat at the table with our mom, dad, and fourteen-year-old brother. They were talking about things like school, but I was too busy consuming my food faster than ever. When I finished my plate I sat back in my chair and watched them talk. “Dad, can I get a car for my sixth birthday?” I interrupted our dad. He, our brother, and our mom laughed, but I just pouted. “Calm down Sadie you’re only five! You can get one when you turn sixteen.” Our brother cried out. I rolled my eyes and got up from my chair to get my ice cream.- Once I finished my chocolate ice cream I went to my room and turned on the tv. I watched tv until my mom came into my room and told me it was time for bed. I brush my teeth and turn off the tv. I leaped into my bed and my mom came in to sing me a lullaby. I asked if she had already put you to bed and she told me you were sleeping peacefully, I was glad. I slept peacefully like you until I heard a bang coming from the living room. I got up out of my bed, put on some socks, and went to check it out. I sneaked past my brother’s open room and took a peek over the hallway wall.
There I saw our mother on the floor, bleeding, our brother sleeping on the couch, and our dad holding a knife! I wanted to scream so you’d hear me, but I covered my mouth so our dad would hear me. I hurried back to my room and pretended I was asleep until I heard my door creak open. Someone came in and shook me, “waking” me up. I turned around to see our dad with a worried look on his face. “Bee, wake up, we have to go.” He whispered. I rubbed my eyes to make it look like I was sleeping. He turned around and turned on the lights, then started packing my stuff in a suitcase. I went into your room and saw you packing your stuff too. I talked for a little and told you I guessed we were going away for a while. I wanted to ask why, but I was afraid that it would lead to me seeing mom. “Put this suitcase in the car.” He told me to do it. I grabbed the really heavy suitcase and pulled it to his car. I opened the door and used all my strength to put it in. I walked back into the house and the living room. “Dad, I’m ready,” I shouted to my dad, who was in the kitchen.
When we were getting ready to leave we heard a scream coming from the bathroom. I rushed to where the sound was coming from. The sound came from the bathroom so I pushed open the door and there she was. Our Mom, on the floor, screaming. “This is all your fault.” She shouted. I woke up and yelled, I looked from side to side then saw you staring at me. “You look pale, are you okay?” You asked me, I just nodded and smiled. Our brother turned around to look at me. “Are you alright, Sadie?” He asked. I nodded my head and said. “Yeah, just a bad dream.” He shrugged his shoulders and turned back around, but when I didn’t tell him it made me so sad.
