A New Insight

Harry Styles was born and raised in the small town of Port Canaveral, FL. One of the biggest hubs in the USA for cruise boats, his summer breaks were always great but none would be better than the summer of his sophomore going into his junior year of high school. The year he met Charlotte Richie and the summer they spent together in port Canaveral would be one to remember. He was shy and Charlotte was outgoing, they were different as different can be but as different as they are they would become the best of friends. Harry was a baseball player for the high school he attended and the summer, fall and winter were times to keep training. Harry and Charlotte family’s were in the Navy and they were jogging in their normal spot when Charlotte asked him “so are you going to go on the tiger cruise next week? I really want to go but don’t want to go without you.” He took a deep breath “I don’t know that’s a lot of people crammed onto a carrier” he had a shyness and anxiety when it came to a lot of people but Charlotte had her ways of getting him to do something that she wanted to do. She stopped running in front of him and pouted and gave him sad eyes “oh please Harry I will make it worth your while if you go with me” she smiled up at him. He turned red from her playful flirt that she was doing “ohh why do you have to do that, you know I hate that” she laughs and he sighs out “ok ok the things I do for you. I’ll go” she smiled and said “thank you Harry and you are so cute when you get shy” he turned red again “Charlotte!!!” She laughs knowing it was so much fun to make him blush. This was Charlotte’s personality and some may say that she likes him but this was how she worked. “Come on, I hear the Disney Magic is about to leave, let's go see them off” he pushed sunglasses on his eyes and said “ok last one there buys lunch” she laughs and says “oh you are on” the two of them took off to the pier where they could see people take off towards their destinations. While they were standing on the pier they heard a scream come from the boat and they saw a woman fall into the water “Oh No” Harry immediately dove into the water and swam right to her. His right arm wrapped around her body and her eyes were closed when he got up to the surface. Once he got her out of the water he immediately started to give her CPR first giving her ten chest compressions and then placing his lips on her lips he breathed into her until she started to cough and she spits up the water. Her eyes opened up to see the boy looking down at her and a weak but soft smile came across her lips “Are you ok?” she felt weak but her chest was hurting more than likely from the fall she just had “my chest hurts, what happened? I can't remember” he saw fear in her eyes and he touched her hand “hey it's ok, I will get you some help. You fell off the cruise boat and had a rough fall into the bay” she calmed down feeling his hand on her hand and that's when he noticed that she was dressed up as a Disney character. The captain of the boat soon made his way off the boat to report the emergency that happened on his boat. Once he reached the girl she stood up “Captain” he reached her and said, “Amelia are you ok?” I saw you fall from the Captain's spot” she nods her head “I think so, Captain. This boy rescued me, I feel like I should thank him somehow” he agreed and approached him “Thank you for rescuing one of my princesses. I want to thank you and give you two boarding passes for the cruise today. It's a 7-day and 6-night cruise to the Bahamas that will return by Sunday morning.” Harry looked at Charlotte and said “we would be back before our tiger cruise next Wednesday” she smiled and said “great let’s do it. Let us go get packed and we will be right back captain” she got excited and the two of them left the pier and went home.

2 hours later

Harry and Charlotte went home and explained the situation to their parents and they were excited for them to have a little getaway for the next two weeks. They both work so hard for school and sports and they loved that they had this opportunity to relax. They needed to hurry on back to the boat and got all settled into their rooms but once they were on the main deck of the boat they noticed a huge banner with Harry’s name on it and it read *Thank you our hero, Harry Styles* Harry saw as numerous staff came up to him and his shyness went on full effect as he just listened to them talk and Charlotte just smiled at him knowing this was for his good. He went over to Charlotte but she walked away from the group making him stay there as she disappeared into the crowd. “Aww look he's so shy,” the woman who plays Jasmine said to him. He nervously laughs and tried to escape the crowd and as he was about to do that Amelia cuts him off “where are you going? I have to give you my thank you for saving my life” he tries to back out while saying “you have already thanked me tho” she shook her head while smiling “oh no that was the captain’s thank you. This is my thank you” she pulled him to her and she hugged him before his entire face was heated and turned red. He didn't hug her back until she said “I don't bite, Harry” she pulled away from his hug and looked into his eyes. The 22-year old Amelia was 5 years older than Harry who was still a teenager “I’m sorry just not used to this much attention” Amelia saw how scared he was and she grabbed his hand and pulled him away from the crowd “I’m sorry, I didn't know how shy you are. I just wanted you to feel appreciated which is why I planned this little party for you.” he saw the way she looked at him and he's never seen anyone look at him like that. He sights out and says “Then I better not disappoint you, I will just endure” she smiled at him and said “thank you” she grabbed his hand and led him back to the crowd but Charlotte saw the way Amelia was looking at him. She thought that she didn’t like him but seeing the way the other girls were looking at chi makes her think otherwise. She smiled and shook off the feeling she had and just worries about her own self, this needed to be about getting Harry outside his little shell. He was getting so much attention from everyone and it was kind of nice. It was a different kind of attention that he was getting than the attention Charlotte gave him but he was thinking about her and wishes she was apart of this. As he thought that he saw Charlotte go up to Amelia and whisper something to her and he saw Amelia smile and nod her head. Amelia grabbed a microphone and handed it to Charlotte “Hello everyone, my name is Charlotte Richie, Harry is my best friend, I have something to say regarding him and in his honor” she took a deep breath and continued “Harry we have been best friends for over a year and I know I like to tease you about your shyness but I have never told you that you are so much more than that to me. You calm me down when I am overwhelmed by high school stuff and you listen to me and pay more attention to me than any other boyfriend I have ever had. I know you think that you are nothing but to me you are the most incredible person and you rescuing Amelia and you risking your life for someone you didn’t even know makes you that much more amazing.” Harry smiled at her and held back tears. She went up to him and he said “Charlotte you are amazing also and I had no idea you felt that way” he wrapped his arms around her and it was then he saw Charlotte in a different way.

Later that Day

He wanted to spend as much time with Charlotte but it seemed everyone on the staff wanted to hang out with him because of the rescue he did. He was able to escape to his room to put a hat and sunglasses on hoping the disguise will fool the staff. He went up to the deck where he found Charlotte in the pool swimming around when he went up to the edge and tilted his sunglasses down and waved to her before putting them back on. She smiled and laughed “the popularity getting to you?” He sighs out and nods his head “it’s so overwhelming, especially when it’s all women that’s doing it. I am pretty sure that Amelia has a thing for younger guys also. The way she keeps looking at me makes me think that she does anyway” she climbed out of the pool and put her arm around him “Harry any junior in high school would love the attention of a college-aged man or woman, only you would be turned off by that” he rolled his eyes “it's not that, Charlotte. I've been wanting to spend some real-time with you and now I have to hide from people” she smiled and said “Oh Harry you get to see me all the time, I promise you I won't feel left out or anything. Besides, you will be with me all the tiger cruise next week now go have some fun” he sighs out while she smiled at him “Ok ok, I won't argue anymore” she hugged him before he got up to find Amelia. He put the sunglasses on top of his hat until he went to the main deck where all the characters were at. Amelia smiled and went to him “Hey there you are, I have been looking everywhere for you” he smiled at her “hey I wasn't feeling so good and went to rest in my room for a bit but I'm good now” she smiled and said “good, hey I know there is an age difference between us but ever since you rescued me I can't stop thinking about you.” he sighs out as she kept getting closer and closer to him “Amelia, you are so nice and sweet but” she put a finger over his lips and said “shh” she removed her finger and soon started to kiss him. His eyes widened in surprise and he let her kiss him for a moment before he kissed her back. His breath was heavy as they kissed and when she pulled away she smiled at him “I know it may never work between us but I wanted to do that just once” he smiled and nervously said “you could do it more than once if you wanted to” she smiled and Charlotte was overhearing what they were talking about and she smiled also hearing her best friend slowly getting out of his shell. Charlotte walked away from them as they kissed again but a thought went across her mind that she did not expect *I wonder what it would be like to kiss him* she shook the thought out of her head and watched as the two of them walked off. Harry was beginning to be a lot more comfortable around girls after he kissed Amelia and now he had two special girls in his life. He did like both girls but he knows that it would never work with Amelia because of the age difference and her being busy. He was enjoying his time with Amelia but he wanted to see Charlotte and Amelia could see it in his eyes and how distracted he was. As he spaced out towards the ocean he noticed Charlotte walking up to him with a guy next to her “Hey there you are, I wanted you to meet my new friend Jeremiah” he sighs out and immediately felt jealous.

Moments Later

Amelia saw the jealousy in his eyes and she grabbed his hand “hey it's nice to meet you, Jeremiah, I hope she hasn't talked your head off yet” he laughs “no it's been the opposite, I have talked her head off but she loves it” Harry laughed and said “it's about time someone has done that to her” Jeremiah laughed and said, “she doesn't need to talk my head off to impress me because she already has” Harry raised an eyebrow at his flirt towards her and he nervously laughs before Amelia whispered to him “Follow my lead” he nods his head “Oh Charlotte we wanted to tell you that we are getting very close to each other and are thinking about dating” He made no reaction to her comment while Charlotte’s eyes widened “Oh wow that is very quick” Harry looked at Charlotte and smiled “yes it did happen quick but we are both happy and isn't that the important thing?” he said to her before she smiled and nodded her head “oh yes of course it is, I am happy for you Harry. I truly am” she put on a brave smile but glared at Amelia before walking away from them. He took a deep breath and looked at Amelia “is that how you feel Amelia? If you do then you must know that I don't know if this will work out between us. I'm still in high school and you have a job that keeps you moving all the time” he said to her before she grabbed his hand “I truly do care about you but I know you care for your friend Charlotte, I just don't know if the love you have for her will be able to get passed you” he sighs out “I don't even know if she even cares about me. She is so flirtatious with me but I feel like her doing that was like an effort to get over my shyness and I don't think that the flirts were her way of telling me something” he sighs out not knowing what to do “Amelia I don't know what to do” he places his face in his hands before Amelia ran off to Charlotte and said, “Charlotte you need to talk to Harry, he is confused on how you feel about him and I don't want to continue my relationship with him unless you two have these feelings resolved” Charlotte walked off and saw him with his face buried in his hands and she smiled and walked over to him “hey cutie” he looked up and sighs out “this is what is confusing me, Charlotte. You do this every time I get upset and I get more upset when it happens, I just need to know if you care about me. No beating around the bush, just tell me if I wasted my time in falling in love with you” she was taken off guard by his statement and she put her hand on his hand “Harry the speech I made to you was more of a best friend telling another best friend how she feels, my flirts are flirts. Part of them were to get you out of the shell you put up, I know you are scared to get close to people because of your past but I do love you Harry and I will never love anyone more than I will love you.” His eyes widened and he smiled before he said “Charlotte you are the most complicated human I have ever met and it took you all year to finally tell me the truth about how you feel, you given me headaches after headaches just to get me out of my shell and it turned out that you did that for me and I couldn’t love you more for doing that” she smiled and pulled him close to her and she kissed him passionately “thank you for getting me over myself” he whispered against her lips before she pulled away “you are welcome and now we can just focus on us from here on out” they leaned back and enjoyed the rest of the week on the cruise.
