Despair and Decay
I always wondered why people look at the stars. To be honest, I find it very stupid. But, have you heard the story about a god that is stuck in Emidis, the realm of the parasite? The story is about the Heroine of the Realms, Aquila of Valvo, the Goddess of Wisdom and the Oceans fighting another god in the Great War. The story ends with Aquila throwing her spear at the god which made the god fall into Emidis but when he was falling, he took out the spear and threw it back at Aquila.
In the story, Aquila dies but she manages to banish the god to the realm of the parasite. People say the god takes the children of the Overworld to Emidis, he kills the children by decaying their bodies and he eats them. We aren’t allowed to say his name either because supposedly he can hear us from Emidis.
To be completely honest with all of you, I am more concerned with the War Game that is happening in Amana than that spooky god that is stuck in Emidis. I heard the Son of Aquila is participating to save humanity. I don’t know him personally but I heard he lived in a village up northwest called Valvo.
But I need to go on a midnight stroll because I can’t sleep. I left my house and just left my village just so I can see the view of the Great City of Odyssey. I'm telling you, looking at the beautiful city on a starry night is the best feeling, besides drinking with your mates, but I walked to the hill I always go to see the city. I sat down and stared at the beautiful city. It is so beautiful.
Out of nowhere, I heard a scream. I looked back at my village. I am a little scared. I slowly went back to the village and I immediately smelled something, something foul. I didn’t know what it was but I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep with that smell. I followed the smell for a while and I stopped. My legs were trembling and my breathing was shaky.
I got closer to see what was going on. I heard munching noises. The noise gave me goosebumps. My palms were sweating and my body was trembling. Then, I saw a light; it was from a candle lamp post. The noises stopped; I walked towards the light and kept staring at the light.
I arrived at the candle lamp post and I trip on something. It felt mushy and wet. I got up and I looked at my feet. They were covered in blood. I was shocked as I slowly turned around and looked down. I couldn’t believe it. I can’t believe it. I wanted to scream but I couldn’t. It was a decomposed body. The body’s organs were all munched up and the skin around it was slowly decaying. The smell is grotesque and potent.
It made you want to throw up. Flies were swarming around the body and some of the organs were pulsing. The little girl is still alive but she’s suffering. Her face was peeled off and her head twitched over and over again. Then, I felt something cold touching the back of my neck. I didn’t want to turn around. Tears were running down my face with fear. I heard it’s raspy breathing near my left ear.
“Do you believe in me now??...“, said the thing.
No words came out of my mouth, I wanted to respond but I just couldn’t. “What's wrong, did the cat get your tongue or what?“, it told me. “I-“. The only thing I could say was I. “Aquila hurt me...she hurt me badly”. “I need my energy back..”. “W-What are you??," I told the monster. It started to giggle. I just wanted to leave. I want to go. I began to pray to the stars in my head.
I wanted one of the stars or gods to help me. "I will start to look at the stars. They aren’t stupid, I was joking. I-I’ll start believing in them, just please save me," I said out loud. I kept begging and begging. I wanted the stars to hear my prayers. But, suddenly it stopped giggling.
“I...am...the...god...of...despair and decay...“.
