Everyone knows the story
About that wretched Crest Peak Hill.
The story about the boy,
Who went to the hill in the middle of the day.
And without anyone noticing him,
He climbed that wretched Crest Peak Hill.
Walking up, up, up the boy goes
Dragging something beside him.
Flowers are crushed underneath the sole of the boy’s shoes as he climbed that wretched
Crest Peak Hill.
Now, that something beside him
Slowed him down quite a bit.
Having to pull and tug with all his might
For it was quite heavy for him alone.
But he became quicker with every pull
As the boy climbed that wretched Crest Peak Hill.
Triumphantly, the boy made it
To the top of Crest Hill.
Sunlight came down in a blaze
Sweat dripping down the boy’s face
As he smiled in success
He was atop that wretched Crest Peak Hill.
Now that something beside him
Laid on the ground
Like trash that was dropped
Nearly toppling back down the wretched hill.
Quickly, the boy grabbed that something and hoisted it up.
Back up to the top of that wretched Crest Peak Hill.
Gripping the something tightly,
The boy dragged it over
To an already deeply dug hole
On top of that wretched Crest Peak Hill.
Rumor has it, though,
That the boy lost his balance and fell
Into the already made hole in the ground,
Dragging that something down with him.
The fall killed him instantly
Hitting his head on a rock
That was buried so deeply
Inside that wretched Crest Peak Hill.
Though, I can tell you myself
That the rumor about the boy
Was not a rumor at all.
Every detail was true.
How do I know?
For I was that something he dragged into the hole with him…
