His Fairytale

He was once a child, a fool but a brave child. He's been lonely since his birth; his mom left him, making him the only child of the Duke. He rarely talks, but he's a good listener, even if it looks like he's not listening.

He has a friend, his childhood sweetheart. His only friend. But she left him at his teens, making him lonely again. His first broken heart.

He met his destiny woman. She's very pretty and looks like a fairy. They lived in a fairytale. Finally, his happiness.

She left him, her, of all people. It's the same reason why his mother left him. Leaving him with a child, their child.

Why?

Why would she leave him?

Is he not worth anything?

Why has everybody left him?

It's because of this child.

It must be!

Hah!

‘I knew it, it's better to kill them while it's still in her womb.’

Rage.

He's full of rage.

He abandoned his child. He doesn't care anymore. He takes the throne, making himself a good ruler, better than the previous king, or even his ancestors.

They met again. Now, it's the king and his childhood sweetheart. She's grown-up now, looks more mature and more beautiful than ever. He fell in love again. Turns out, she doesn't want to leave him either, she just has her own circumstances with her family. This time, he made sure no one would leave him.

She's beautiful, his most beloved. He asked a painter to make her portrait, her big portrait. It's for her birthday. He's so happy when thinking about her; how excited he is when he thinks she would give him her biggest smile.

No.

Don't.

Don't you dare.

Why?

Her beautiful white gown is now painted with red.

He's a tyrant.

He liked blood, especially when it's from another King's head.

But not her.

Not now.

He didn't even give her his present yet.

While trembled, h

e caught her body. He commanded his knight to close the ballroom door and search for the culprit.

It's okay.

It's alright.

His magic can handle it.

For the time being, he can make her warm.

Just go get the physician.

She will be fine.

It's just a slash on her back.

She will be fine.

Poisoned.

She got poisoned.

His sunshine is now gone.

He just has to wait and wish.

For countless nights.

He just has to believe that she will wake up one day.

He is now making a wish. For whatever beings that can make her eyes open, even the devil, he'll sacrifice everything in his power for her to wake up.

Time flies, he has to hide his lover. He doesn't want the enemies to find out his Achilles heel. He visited her every night, before bed. Sometimes he talks, but the other times he just stares at her. Desperately wish her to wake up.

Why does his love have to be like this?

He just wants himself and his lover to be happy.

Why can't he be happy?

He wondered every night.

Looking at her picture in his bedroom.

Wondered if he should die too.

So they can be together forever.

His daughter, he found her when she played hide and seek with her nanny.

Ah, that woman's child.

He kidnapped her and brought her to his room. Her appearance looks like him, nothing like her mother at all, making him all curious.

It turns out her nature is nothing like his; she's lively and chirps all the time. Just like she wants to please him with her actions. He is. Not pleased, just reminded him of her, his lover, who is unconscious. That's why he let her live another day.

She's now seven years old. And it's been six years since the accident. No one talks about that. That is an unwritten rule in the palace. The father-daughter pair became closer, and he unknowingly let her live his heart. His daughter. His unspoken words. Everything he held dear is now gone. He hurt them, bringing them bad luck. He doesn't want his daughter to go that way. Not again.

When she woken up, he doesn't know. She met his daughter first. They unknowingly became friends. His daughter would tell her all about her day. She knew, from the day she met her, that she was his daughter. She kindly greets her.

“Hello dear, what's your name? ”

She was scared. Why was there an unknown woman in the palace? Moreover, it looks like an abandoned one. The Princess stated her name, despite being wary of her. The woman said her name was beautiful. No one had said that before, not to her.

The Princess said the Emperor was busy uniting the country. Ah, that's why he doesn't know. If he knew, he would have created an uproar about her waking up. They continue to get closer, even though it's only a few weeks. The princess would give her food. She stole it from her meal or from the kitchen. A kind Princess, she's surely going to be a great leader. She's lively, must be from her mother.

She's very lovely.

A loveable and lively princess who also knew when and what to speak at the right time.

Ah, her lover taught the Princess well. A sudden butterflies flies in her stomach. She's proud that her lover also grew up so well.

Finally, they met. While his daughter was there, she smiled, happy to meet each other. The Emperor shed tears at her shoulder. Only she would know that he was crying, but everyone knew that the Emperor held her very lovingly.

He missed her.

His lover.

His other.

His pride and joy.

Just him. As a human being.

Not as the Emperor.

Even on the battlefield, it doesn't matter to him if he's hated; it doesn't matter if she hates him. He just thought of her. His slashes are a reflection of how much he hopes, how much countries need to get her back. He returned to his homeland for each country, waiting to see if she awoke.

Now she's here, alive, living, and laughing. After he conquered 8 countries. She's finally here. Everything else seems blurry, just her, his focus. He couldn't see anything else.

They hug each other. No one dared to interrupt. They were also shocked to see the Emperor's lover here. His tyranny will finally stop now, his long awaited stop.

The Emperor's lover.

Such a topic no one would dared talking about.

They have a lunch together, the father, daughter, and his lover. The Princess felt betrayed at first, her only friend turned out to be hiding the fact that she was her father's lover. Though she doesn't mind. As long as her friend holds her father's leash so he doesn't go crazy, she's fine.

The Princess is now called her Mother. Her Mother. She's happy; she finally has a mother, just like in fairytales she often reads.

And as for the Emperor, he can't describe it. Everything he knew was he loved her. He love spending every second with her.

He takes her to be Empress for his citizen, a mother to his child, and a wife for his life.
