Moving day

“I can’t believe it,” I ranted to Lisa. “We’ve lived here my whole life and now my mom is just making us leave.”

“Yeah, I mean I know it’s for a good cause but it’s going to suck you living on the other side of the country.” Lisa comforted me, “oh yeah, by the way, Mike said he’s going to come to the airport with me to tell you bye.”

It only seemed fitting that the first people I said hi to in pre-school we’re the ones who were going to be the last ones to say bye to me. I loved Lisa and Mike with all my heart. They were the only people who talked to me on the first day of school. They were like my brother and sister since I was an only child. We kind of became a family after mine fell apart.

“RAINY,” my mom yelled. “Get your butt down here right now before I drag it down here.” She can be a lot when she’s stressed.

“Coming mom!” I yelled, “Lisa I got to go. I’ll see you at the airport but make sure Mike doesn’t get lost and that he’s on time, you know how he is.”

So I got off the call with Lisa and texted Mike that I was about to leave for the airport. I ran down stairs with the my bag and then we left for the airport.

“Rainy Evelyn Lewis!” Mike yelled when he saw me. “ I thought you left without saying goodbye you idiot.” Of course Mike was the one insulting me while Lisa was balling her eyes out.

“I know that deep down you’re going to miss me Mike, and you know it to.” That must have tapped into his emotions because he gave me a hug and said “please don’t do anything stupid while I’m not there, Im not going to be there to save your ass this time so be careful.”

“Lisa please don’t cry.” I begged, “I’ll come visit and you can come visit. Well have sleep-“ right then the giant microphone called our flight number so we all three hugged and I promised to call when I got there. We made it to our plane and found a seat then sat down and got ready for the long flight.
