The welcome home party
( Emma pov) It had been five years since I'd seen him last we barely spoke even on the phone , I often wondered if he even still loved me. Jesse was my first real boyfriend we met in high-school and haven't been apart since. Jesse has dark black hair bright blue eyes he's not tall nor short either but built he was on the football team with his best friend Tommy in school. They were more like brothers. Tommy kept him out of trouble, from drug using too bar fights. I swear we owe Tommy our lives. Tommy is much different then Jesse, Tommy is quiet and reserved unless you upset him. He prefers not too fight . Tommy hasn't had many girlfriends but from what I've seen he seems romantic unlike Jesse who just doesn't care about trying too please me. It was the night of Jesse 's welcome home party and five years felt like an eternity for me. As I helped Jesse's mom and sister Brittany set the table with dessert and salads I could smell the scent of his colone as he walked in the back yard. As the breeze blew slightly blowing my hair just lightly off my shoulders I turned seeing him standing there staring at me. " Jesse..." I said in a soft quiet tone not believing what I was seeing he smirked at me walking towards me in a quickened pace lifting me up and hugging me tightly. " God I missed you!" He says too me smiling brightly I kiss him deeply " how long are you staying this time?" I ask him curiously he lowers me down " for good unless they call us back." He says I smile looking behind him seeing Tommy standing there with a bright smirk on his face , and boy were those dimples hard to resist at times Tommy was the quiet type that stood back and observed everything and every one with his dirty blonde hair and hazel eyes I found it hard he hadn't caught a girl yet. Infact! Tommy and I talked more then Jesse and I ever did , especially in the five years they were away. I sighed dropping my arms and smiled at Tommy hugging him gently " I'm glad you're both alright " I said too him stepping away noticing an odd look coming from Jesse as I embraced his best friend as a statement of relief I was happy they were both home and alive but as I watched Jesse pop open a beer his eyes darted over too me asif an animal watching its prey. He then looked back down at his plate of food and went to sit down at a nearby table to eat it. His mom and sister sat next too him and because there wasn't any room at the table left Tommy and I had to sit across from one another. " so, Jesse what are your plans now will you go back to the auto shop?" His dad asked him curiously as he took a bite of his sandwich " Not sure yet pops, maybe I'll just take Emma here away and go somewhere " I raise my eyebrow confused " go somewhere?" I ask him confused looking over at him he nods at me " yeah....is that okay with you?" He says in a sarcastic tone his entire family turn their heads in his direction his mother raises her eyebrow at him angirly " Jesse mind your manners around a lady that's not how I raised you!" She says glaring at him he throws his napkin down on the table annoyed and stands up " Fine! I've lost my appetite anyway!" He says storming away I stand up looking at him confused and hurt Tommy shakes his head at me " No Em, let me go..." he says as he gets up and chases after him. Jesse's father smiled at me softly " dont worry Emma dear I'm sure Jesse is fine he's probably just a little jet lagged." He said too me. We started to hear shouting from the back yard Jesse began to shout at Tommy as he walks over almost in super speed and grabs me by the wrist tightly heading towards his car " Jesse! Wait stop what's going on?!" I shouted at him confused he yanked the car door open and threw me in the car the door slammed shut on my arm I herd the snap as tears flooded my eyes causing my vision to blur . Tommy shoved Jesse out the way pulling me from the car Brittany and Jesse 's mom ran towards the car as they herd me cry. " Her fucking arm is broken! Brittany call the ambulance!" Tommy says as his voice begins too fade I begin to pass out I feel someone catch me when I wake up I'm in the hospital my left arm is in a cast up to my elbow and I was hooked up too machines I could hear Tommy and Jesse out in the hallway with Jesse 's dad. I couldn't hear what they were saying but I could tell Jesse's dad was trying to calm them down. After a few minutes Jesse walked in he sits next too me sighing heavily " I'm sorry about your arm it was an accident " he says looking disappointed in himself. I however wasn't impressed whatsoever I sat there in bed avoiding eye contact " what were you and Tommy fighting about Jesse?" I asked him sighing heavily he leaned back in his chair " I was ....telling Tommy not too look at you anymore " I glared at him raising my eyebrow in annoyance " Why?" I asked him in a demanding tone I could see that my question didn't sit well with him he grab my chin and said " Because you're mine!" I sighed looking at him confused visiting hours were almost over so Jesse kissed the top of my head and made his way out my room. I leaned my head as far back as it would go in my pillow sighing closing my eyes. I herd the sound of my door creeking open I lifted one eyelid seeing Tommy enter my room as he cautiously tip toed too my chair. I sat up making sure the wires wouldn't beep " Tommy..." I whispered. He leaned in close whispering " hey Em, I can't talk long .... Jesse is really pissed at me he doesn't want me to even talk to you he thinks we are having some sort of affair. " I giggle softly " he's not serious is he ?" Tommy sighs looking at me sighing heavily I sigh at him " But we are just friends, why is he so upset?" Tommy shakes his head at me " No Em, you don't understand ...." he says trailing off as he gets up looking nervous seeing a shadow go by the window of my private room. I pull on his hand gently " Tommy wait...what don't I understand?" I ask him looking at him confused and worried he sighs shaking his head at me pulling away " sorry Em, I'm out of time I've gotta go." He says leaving my room I sigh confused about everything that just happened I close my eyes hoping to sleep it off that when I wake up it will all have been a bad dream.
