It's just a crush
It was a normal Friday and so far no teasing from that dumb group of popular girls. I was so glad that it was almost the weekend. One more hour and I would be at the library reading a new book. I was just about to head off to my last class when my best friend ever ran over to me.
“Woah Lucy slow your roll, what’s wrong?” I was confused.
“Omg, you will never guess what I just saw!!!“She almost screamed at me.
“Okay what tell me!!!!!”
“Zach just broke up with Veronica!!!”
“Oh okay cool I guess, umm why do I care?”
“It will prove the fact that he likes you.”
“Okay you need to get that crazy little idea out of your head he doesn’t like me he hasn’t for the past two years, just because he kissed at the end of the freshmen dance does not mean he likes me. I’ve told you this a hundred times already.”
“I know but he kissed you, that was your first kiss, and he knew too.”
“So, what does it being my first kiss have to do with anything?”
“Because he wanted to make sure it was him you had it with.”
“Sure, keep telling yourself that, I gotta go to math class see ya.”
“Wait, he’s in your math class right.”
“Yeh and he sits next to me, but that doesn’t matter.”
“Oh but it might.”
“Stop it, I have to go, “I growled at her.
“Sure, have fun in math class.” She said winking at me.
Sometimes I think she’s crazy but I won’t get another best friend like her ever so I guess I’m stuck with her.
-2 hours later-
RING
I put my stuff away and start to walk out the door when Zach blocks my way.
“Hey, Emma.”
“Zach”
“Aww I don’t get a hello,” He said, pretending to pout.
“Fine, Hello Zach, “I say sarcastically.
“See that wasn’t so hard.”
I roll my eyes, “Sure whatever can you move?”
“Sure oh and one more thing....” He says handing a piece of paper to me, and I look down at it confused. “Come to my party tomorrow, it will be fun and you can bring your friend Lucy too.”
“I’ll think about it.”
“Don’t think too hard.” He said winking at me and I rolled my eyes again. He moved and I left. I get my stuff from my locker. Then walk to the library for some peaceful reading and of course thinking.

When I finally reach the library my phone buzzes.

NEW MESSAGE FROM CRAZY GIRL.....................
CRAZYGIRL: OOOMMM GGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me: What??? What happened now?
CRAZYGIRL: OMG, u will never guess what happpppppp eee nnn eeeddd!!!!
Me: Omg just tell me already
CRAZYGIRL: OK!! I heard Zach telling his friends about his party this weekend and.............
Me: and.... what?
CRAZYGIRL: HE SAID HE INVITED YOUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!
Me: yeh he did and he also said that I could bring you with me.
CRAZYGIRL: WHATTTT?????? TELL ME EVERYTHING!!!!
Me: Ok, ok, so after math class, he stopped and asked me if I wanted to go to his party this weekend and then he said that I could also invite you, and I told him I’d think about it, which was a complete lie.
CRAZYGIRL: What do you mean it was a complete lie?
Me: I’m just not going, I’m not going to go to a lame high school party.
CRAZYGIRL: But it’s not any lame high school party, it's Zach’s lame high school party
Me: What does that have to do with anything?
CRAZYGIRL: Sheesh only everything!!!
Me: you just want to go to a lame high school party don’t you?
CRAZYGIRL: Maybe........ but even if I wanted to, I technically can’t go without you because I’m your plus one only if you go
Me: FINE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, I’ll think about it
CRAZYGIRL: FURREAL LL?????
Me: yes for real.
CRAZYGIRL: YEEEEEEEEEEES
Me: but I’m also going to have to ask my mom
CRAZYGIRL: OKKK GO ASKKKKKKKKK TEXT ME LATER WITH HER ANSWERRRRR!!!
Me: ok bye <3<3
CRAZYGIRL: bye<3<3
-onhour later-
I walked into the kitchen and looked around to see if my mom was home yet. Yep, she was home and looked happy for some odd reason. Oh well here goes nothing.
“Hey, mom?”
“Yeh sweetie?”
“Um, I was wondering if I could go to this party tomorrow?”
“Whose party is this?”
“Zach Miller’s”
“Sure go ahead have fun, just don’t drink too much.” She said, kissing me on the forehead. Ok, that was weird. Usually, she asks me a million questions like, are there going to drugs or drinking? But now it’s like she’s encouraging me to drink. I shrug and head upstairs to tell Lucy the good news. Welp looks like I’m going to Zach’s party, that’ll be fun.

KNOCK KNOCK
I open the door to find a pretty stranger.
“Do you like it, Emma?”
“LUCY???”
“Yep!”
“Where in the world did you get those adorable clothes?”
“Oh well, these are just some of my sister’s old clothes.”
“I soo want those clothes right now.”
“Haha, maybe I’ll let you borrow some, some time!”
“Omg yes, now get inside?“I close the door behind her and we head up to my room. She flops to my bed and I sigh.
“What’s wrong Ems.”
“What am I going to wear?” I ask as I look into my walk-in closet.
“Pick something out.“I slip into the closet and pull on a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt.
“This?“I say walking out.
“No, step aside to let the masterwork.“She stands up and I step aside as she grabs a ton of clothes and puts them on the bed. In almost 3 minutes she has about 6 different outfits laid out.
“Okay pick one out and go try it on.”
“Um okay, I guess.” I look at the outfit then pick my favorite one and try it on. After I put it on it was time to go to the party.
“Are you ready Ems”
“I don’t know if you think it’s too short?”
“No, it’s fine, okay”
“Okay, now come on, we gotta go,” I say as I grab my car keys and head out the door.
“Can I drive?” Lucy asks.
“No, you know you can’t drive my baby.”
“Okay let’s just go” I pull out of the driveway and head to the party.
