chapter 1
It was the the last morning of the fall season, Emily was meditating. The clock struck 9:30 am and Emily started getting ready for her coaching classes. Before going to the classes she texted her bestfriend Max .
Emily- Good Morning.
Max - Hey,where were you last two days???
Emily- I was just spending time with myself and busy as well you know .
Max- Please don't keep such communication gaps in between us !
Emily- Why..??? You missed me or what ??
Max- You know !!!
Emily - Yeah...By the way I'll come back and text you bye!
Max- Where are you going ?? When will you be back ??
Emily- Tutions.
Max- Please don't go !!!!
Emily- I have to Max..I promise I'll come back and surely text you.
Max- Okay, waiting !
Five hours later:
Emily- What you doing??
Max- Nothing, you say .
Emily- Sorry Max I wasn't able to text you after coming back..I came back by 1pm.(Emily texted with a deep exhale)
Max- You came at 1pm and now it's 7pm I guess !(Max texted in disappointment)
Emily- I'm sorry Max.
Max- That's alright Emily.
Emily- You are the sweetest Max.
Max- I love you.
Emily- I love you too my bestfriend. (Emily loved Max as her bff)
Max- Not bestfriend everytime!
Emily- But we are bestfriends right Max ??
Max- Yeah,but don't you think we are more than that ???
Emily-I know you really like me Max but what if we are not meant to be together???? I'm scared actually, I don't want to lose my bestfriend moreover,we are better off together as bestfriends only.
Max- Again you started destiny and all of that !!!
Max- You know Emily, I write my destiny on my own I will marry you and love you. And only one life we have right ?? Enjoy it !
Emily- But....Destiny
Max- Fine....Forget this evening, the conversation, delete the chats and let it be !
Max turned offline leaving behind a perplexed Emily to contemplate a lot over the whole situation and being fearful of losing her bestfriend Max .
Max was the only guy Emily could trust on after her first heartbreak in past.Max was everything to her,the only bestfriend she had,the only person whom he loved and trusted.
The very next morning:
Emily texted Max but he wasn't replying. She started worrying about him and thinking about him .She wasn't able to focus on her regular activities. Time passed by Emily kept on checking her phone but no messages !
That day evening:
Max texted Emily saying he was busy and he had to go out for that he was offline.
Max- Hey,don't worry...I won't die,I'll be the father of your kids !!! (Max said with a laughter)
Emily- Why are you sooooo into me ??? You have multiple options, ex-es as well then ??
Max- They were nothing Emily what I feel for you, I never felt that with anyone.
Emily- am I perfect for you ??
Max- Yeah you are infact having a girl like you is a blessings in a person's life.
Emily- What if you start liking somebody else some day ??
Max- Never..Even if that happens you will still stay in me !
Emily- But Max, we are better off as bestfriends only I guess.
Max- But we need each other Emily !!!!
Emily- Yeah ,I know .
Max- By the way,when are we meeting??(Emily and Max started off as bestfriends online as a result they never met each other in persons)
Emily- Soon !
Max- I owe a kiss to my bestie.
Emily- Will it be okay to kiss as bestfriends???
Max- Yeah,we both are single so it won't be wrong thing to do.
Emily- Still...?? I'm not understanding anything what to do ??
Max- You don't have to understand everything !
Max- Don't you think I stick to you everytime?
Emily- yeah, because I'm your bestie.
A month passed by and finally, Max convinced Emily and they came together. There use to be days where Emily use to stay busy with her healing sessions with her clients and Max with his studies and gym workout.But they missed each other even being at a distance from each other(Max had to shift to another state due to his father's transfer he use to come to Emily's city whenever he had some work or for his exams basically) It was a long distance relationship but still both parties were very much obsessed and attached to each other.The relationship started with a lot of bang and passion !
Max and Emily were exchanging ideas,future plans together,thoughts different views and opinions and were respectful towards each other.They were exchanging pictures sharing everything, every emotion to each other.They were vibin' really well together, they were happy to be together after a year of best friendship they were loving each other the way Max always desired to do.Emily was happy seeing Max changing in a positive way as a person. They were supporting each other, the bond was becoming unbreakable over time ,every conversation started as if it's from where it ended the last time they texted .
Two months passed by Max was still into Emily ! Max started considering Emily as his only bff and gf.The only problem in them was the distance and unmatched schedule which use to come in their way of meeting each other in persons. Still they kept patience and waited for the meeting eagerly. Max wasn't interested in other girls anymore.
Emily was happy to know that Max told about their relationship to some of his friends instead of keeping it a secret or loving privately because that's a red flag !
Max promised Emily to marry her they finally discussed about that next level and Max promised her to make her completely his !
Max promised Emily to kiss her scars before her lips.Emily was completely into Max thinking Max as a blessing in her life .A person who was actually compensating all her past wounds with his love.
Finally, the day came when Max and Emily are about to meet for the first time.Both were super excited because it was their first meeting.
Max was eagerly waiting to finally meet his bestfriend
Emily was excited to meet her bestfriend and boyfriend as well!
Max saw Emily and hugged her tight without wasting much time.
They were looking at each other with excitement Emily felt as if it was not the first time they were meeting, then Emily slowly went towards Max and kissed his cheek but Max left before time because the environment wasn't favourable for their meeting or have time together.
Max made sure Emily was comfortable in their first meet so he kissed her forehead and not her lips! Max knew it that Emily never allowed any guy to come close to her even being a17 years old teen of 21st century, she didn't know how to kiss ! So he made sure in the first meet that Emily is comfortable with him.Emily was feeling lucky to have a guy like Max who cares for her so much.
Finally, it was new year ! Emily was excited to start the new year with Max not only as bestie but also as his girlfriend.Emily started loving Max with her body ,mind and soul .
One day evening:
Emily- Maxxxxxxxx......What you doin'???
Max- Nothing
Emily- Can I call ya ??
Max- Yeah yeah .
Emily- Time ??
Max- 7pm
Emily called Max at 7 but Max was reluctant to talk.He behaved weirdly and showed up as very busy ! Emily started thinking about Max that is he bored of her ?
Emily- Max where are you busy ??
Max- Tutions
Emily- okay .
Max- yup
Emily- sorry for disturbing you then.
Max- You don't disturb !
Emily- No I did !
Emily- Actually...
Max- What happened?? You need me now right ?
Emily- Yeah,I'm missing you.
Max- Reason (Feeling irritated)
Emily- Nothing no reason.
Emily- You will not understand or feel, leave it !
Max- See Emily I'm a guy who loves you and so I can just take care of you , I can't feel anything . This is not a movie that I can feel when you are upset!
Emily- yeah (she typed being hurt)
Emily- Have your dinner on time.
Max saw the message and got busy without replying Emily like he use to do before.
Since the last few days,Max pretended to be very busy, started replying late to Emily's texts and stopped talking at nights.
Emily started feeling lonely without Max. She started missing him every night ,she started thinking about those days when everything was going really well .Max use to reply instantly and text Emily a lot, Max made her feel special and comfortable and never wanted to let her feel broken anymore like she felt in her previous relationship. Emily was missing her old Max.Every song she was listening to was reminding her of Max .
Emily was trying to figure out everything as to why things are happening this way ?
One day Emily had a fight with her mother and she decided to leave the house for the sake of her self-respect . But,before leaving behind everything and starting over again by her own she decided to let Max know that she'll be leaving her house the very next morning. (Emily thought Max is no more interested in her so no big deal for him to stay without her )
Emily started texting Max :(With tears in her eyes)
Emily- Max you please take care of yourself
I'll be leaving home tomorrow morning.
Emily- I'll be approaching the morning bus.
Max- Bit** What happened??
Max- Let's go together
Max- Tell me the time
Emily- I called you to say this but you were busy .
Max- I'm calling
Max called Emily but she rejected his call thinking he's better off without her and it might affect and ruin his career if he joins her and embarks in this new journey.
Max- Pick up!!
Emily- No you take care..I'll be in touch with you.
Max stopped seeing the messages and went off without replying.
The next morning:
Emily- Good morning..I'm going now.(she texted Max with a picture of the bus she's in)
Max saw the message and said nothing in reply. Emily understood he's angry on her action,he's not happy with her decision . Emily
embarked on her journey with tears in her eyes thinking about leaving behind everything, everyone and specially Max who she loved a lot,who was everything to her! Emily kept checking her phone but no texts were there from Max .
Emily reached a small town,the journey made Emily tired and she finally got to stay in a temple for some hours . Max wasn't replying being angry on Emily. Emily started thinking about Max,
"Maybe he has decided to move on ,maybe Max is better off without me"! {Emily started talking to herself}
Suddenly, a bike came and hit Emily from back ! People came to help her and treat her injuries.
Emily decided to go to her granny's house after the accident she met with. After staying for a few days in her granny's house, Emily finally came back home. Everyone ,her friends, her cousins,her family and even Max was angry on her. Emily stopped chasing Max realising the fact that,Max is not interested in her anymore and does not misses her anymore.
After two weeks of on and off communication, Max texted Emily asking her for meeting him !
Max- Hey,do you wanna meet ?? If you came back from
your runaway !
Emily- yeah sure but not possible now Max.
Max- Please meet me tomorrow
Max- we'll spend time together,please.
Emily- But how Max mum won't allow what will I say ?
Max- Say anything!!!
Emily- I thought you have forgotten me.
Max- I can't ! You left me you had hurt me Emily.
Emily- Sorry Max.
Max- yeah.
Max- Please meet me tomorrow
Max- I really wanna meet you and the biggest thing is Emily ,
I wanna hug you really tight.
Emily- Fine I'll try.
Max- Yeah,please.
It was Valentine's day, Emily was very excited because it was her first Valentine's day with Max ! That day itself they planned to meet the next day evening 6pm. Both were excited to meet after 4 months.
Emily texted:
Emily- Come and call me .
Max- okay babygirl .
Finally, the day started being busy as usual. Max was waiting for the meeting eagerly, Emily was excited to meet her Max after four months finally ! The clock struck 5:30 pm. "Are you a clock or a snail " !!?!! {Emily said looking angrily at the clock}
The clock struck 5:55 pm and Max ranged up Emily to let her know that he's out there up for the meeting!
Emily ran downstairs and opened the gate for Max to let him come inside. {she was happy that what she thought about Max was wrong he still craves for her presence in his life. }
Emily- Max you are here before 6pm !!!
Max- yup
Max hugged Emily without wasting much time , Emily hugged him back tight as if she got everything she ever wanted ! Emily and Max started conversing about the time when Emily left home.
Emily apologised to Max for her actions then,suddenly Max started getting romantic with Emily.
Max put his hands around her waist and a sudden kiss in her forehead ,he was gently kissing her cheek. Emily hugged him tight and started saying "you know how much I miss you everyday ,I always feel like hugging you tight and keep yourself close to me always". Max smiled at her and said nothing instead he let her stay into his arms . Max and Emily were looking at each other's eyes with love and intense passion for one another. Max said "let's kiss" ; he put his hand around her waist, Emily put her hand around his neck and Max started kissing her lips gently.
Max started grabbing her tight and kissing her with all the passion he has in him for Emily, they both were into the moment just loving each other the way they wanted to,being close to each other and creating memories of love together. (They got very intimate )
That night :
Max- It's too late ,you did not sleep?
Emily- Nope.
Max- Aren't you tired ?
Emily- No ,you were not there today so I'm not tired ! {She typed giggling for irritating Max}
Max- By the way,are you comfortable with me ?
Emily- Yeah,of course I am !
Max- You are mine.
Emily- Yes,I'm all yours. Your's forever!!!
Max- Yeap.
Emily and Max were communication properly now and Emily was happy to have a guy like Max in her life. Max started feeling lonely without Emily since they got intimate ,as it's 2 months now they aren't able to meet and it was time for Max to leave the city soon ! Max planned to meet Emily but she couldn't manage time for that.
Max started ignoring Emily's texts pretending to be busy with family, friends and exam preparations. Emily didn't text thinking Max to be busy,"his exams were drawing near ,he needs to study"! because she cares for him a lot. Emily wanted to meet Max but he said no straight away.
But,Emily started noticing something suspicious about Max . She used her spare instagram id to watch Max's stories. Emily being caring towards Max even when their was no contact in between 'em she use to still check on Max to get an idea about how he's doing ?
Emily discovered that Max has been following many girls but was stalking and chatting with a specific girl named 'Annie' .
Max started uploading stories with Annie . On the other hand, Annie being a social girl was stalking and tagging only Max in her every story.Every story was dedicated to special guy in her(Annie) life.Max gifted Annie earings that he promised to gift Emily when they started as lovers. Emily was hurt thinking Max was enjoying ,he had time for Annie but not replying to her texts anymore !
Emily sensed something suspicious about the matter but still Emily thought Annie to be just a friend of Max .
"Maybe I'm thinking way too much Max can't do anything that'll hurt me,Annie is just a good friend of Max "; said Emily.
{ Emily trusted Max a lot so she was pretty reluctant to ask Max about Annie. }
Days passed by and finally Max left the city without meeting Emily and just meeting Annie. Emily knew it but said nothing thinking it as her fault that she wasn't able to meet Max on time.
Max left and texted Emily:
Max- Hey, I'll be leaving the city today.
Emily- okay take care ,happy journey.
At night:
Emily- Max can I ask you something?
Max- yeah ask.
{Emily send the picture of Annie's instagram story to Max where she mentioned Max in the story video .The story said; "When your boyfriend annoys you, your reaction be like "!!! Later,Max mentioned Annie back with some naughty smily emojis.
Emily was totally confused about what's going on!
Being intuitively sharp,Emily sensed something's brewing in between Max and Annie.}
Max- Hey,I have some female friends who know me very well
I hope you don't have any problem Emily if I post
stories with 'em ??
Emily- Oh...Okay Max that's sweet I don't have any problem.
Max- Yeah.
Emily- Max
Max- Say
Emily- Don't you miss me??
Max- I try not to miss you because it's hard for me
and now I don't know when we'll meet next.
Max- I know I'm not a perfect guy but I try to do
better everytime Emily ! I love you Emily.
I won't be meeting Annie anymore, things with you
are different Emily try to understand.
Max- I saw from which id you watch my stories everyday.
Emily- Max ,I'm sorry for doubting you.
Max- you don't have to be!
Emily started thinking that she was wrong about Max ,
"How can I be so possessive, I shouldn't have doubted Max in terms of being loyal to me"; said Emily. She decided not to check on Max anymore, she stopped watching his stories.
A month passed by Max had his exams,Emily prayed for him as usual, her fingers crossed for his exams to go well. She stopped thinking about Annie and started relying on Max more than before. Emily and Max had a conversation for their future of how they'll stay together. Things were going well between them !
Max was paying attention to Emily's needs,replying to her properly, they were communicating everyday and enjoyed talking to each other throughout the day. Max promised Emily to be the perfect boyfriend for her. The positive changes in Max's behaviour, actions made Emily feel good and safe to be with him.
{* Everything was going well until Emily suddenly felt an urge to see Max's instagram story one day.}
It was their 8 th month together now and Emily was excited thinking about her future with Max. They were so happy together.
Emily was feeling an unknown call or urge to watch Max's story that day.Emily checked from the id she used to watch Max's story usually but she discovered Max to confirm that her intuition might be wrong about Max once again! "I'm sure Max will never do anything that'll hurt me badly";said Emily.
After a few minutes, Emily saw Max's instagram story where he was holding Annie close to him and they were taking mirror selfies captioned " 3rd monthsary <3 ". Annie Uploaded the picture from her second id which Emily didn't know about and Max mentioned her back with some heart emojis approving to the story.
Emily's hands were shaking ,she was shocked and hurt.
Emily took screenshot for showing it to Max asking him for clarity.
Emily send the screenshot to Max for confirming her doubt
Max saw the picture and turned offline saying nothing to Emily.
A few weeks passed by ,Emily waited for Max to reply but he never texted back again !
Emily texted:
Emily- Congratulations to both of you!(With the screenshot)
Max- (saw the picture and text but turned offline
without replying !)
*Max ghosted Emily since that day they never interacted again !
Everything was clear to Emily now,she was able to see the bigger picture, Max was using Emily for his amusement,he was just sexually attracted to her,it was not love it was his lustful desire and feelings towards his bestie .Max was already dealing with Annie since the last few months and their relationship was public to his friends as well !
* Max lied to Emily that people know he has a girl and who it is ,Max maintained 'friends with benefits' with Emily without letting her know about it ,considering their relationship to be valid because he knew it that Emily won't maintain a relationship if it's just dating or not public.
{Emily started contemplating as to what was in between her and Max ? }
Emily was completely broken and distraught mentally, she ws replaying her conversations with Max ,the false hopes Max gave him,their shared intimate moment,the false promises and unspoken words ! "If Annie was the girl he was in love with then, who was I to him"? ; said Emily (with tears in her eyes ).Every part of her loved Max ,everytime thinking about the situation she was feeling deserted,she felt betrayed and cheated,something was heavily weighing on her.Days passed by and Emily realized Max never loved her.Tears rolled off her cheeks.
Emily was feeling as if somebody took away her soul from her body.She forgave Max but she knew that she'll never forget him.
He was the only bestfriend she had,the only guy she relied on.
Max went ahead with Annie,leaving behind a shattered Emily at her most vulnerable time questioning her bond with Max -
