Hopeless
My teary eyes bleed blood
Drowned into this silent swallowing sea
Our souls are crippled and our hearts sowed with fear and impediments
Handcuff by myriad
Tainted by monsters
Flaring of arrows in my heart
Jingling the cries of innocent souls
Their bodies tattooed with bullets
Leaving our homes to an exile, we're no longer at peace
Broken, imprisoned and entangled with agony
Our bodies shivering in fear
Seeing our girls treated in a mannerless way
What a scandalous treatment
As we wept seeking for peace and solace
Waking up to the sounds of dreadful gunshots
We've been defiled in our homeland
And no one bats an eyelid
Ana yi mana yanka rago
We're no longer at ease, can we have a taste of peace and freedom again
We're asking for elusive grace
Muna waka da ganga da sarewa
let our land be filled with radiance
When will we sing the tales of success
My ink will be my sword
In revolutionizing the image of Nigeria not with guns but with the weapon of literature
