Dead Voxel

He was spotted on the distant tower ruins, standing there oh so perfectly still.

Rain dripped down on his wretched helm, moisture turned his cape into a reflectice hell, and his menacing stance was enhanced with his robotic armor. The rain poured down the ruined town, the fog in the distance slowly slipped away past the vast horizon. His frightening armor was worn and torn by years of fierce combat, yet his visor was pristinely clear. His armor of dragon scale design created by his own ideas. He wore the paladins design of an old king for his helm. The dusk claymore lay still on his back, being Ridgid and sharp as a nightmare. Perhaps this is why the called him the void Knight.

Toshiko felt a sense of dread going down her spine, shivering like a cold snap touched on her bones. Only her body shook, her helm locked onto his, ready to face him, her eyes widened beneath her visor. Her nobushi armor locked like a statue. Her naganata froze in her hands.

Ione stood on the old tower they once exploded as as teen, a sense of anger flowed through their robotic body, their sensors booted up ready to fight him once more, whirling like a dust devil. Their dark samurai armor showing no movement, like their body had no need to breath. Why breath if one is going to take one away. Their ornament layed atop their intimidating helmet, showing off icelandic runes and a depiction of the one above all, Iría, god of death.

His sensors detected the two of them, whirling a bit, he turned towards them with his head first, showing off his visor first, then the rest of his hellish helm, his glare shook Toshiko down to her core.

"Huh, not dead yet? I can only expect a nightmare to keep on coming, but you are not, you're just a little girl playing games far above your minimal knowledge of reality, you should learn to give up already before your dreams are crushed by your own ignorance and eternal rage for ones who can crush that little hope burning deep inside of you." He said angrily, his fist clenched with anger, his optical drives emmited a red glow that was directed towards Ione's helm. His body fully turned towards them.

"One to speak might I say, nothing more than a boy who was lonely after knowing he would end up killing all of his friends in a raging blur of emotions for something that cannot die... how does it feel having that guilt brining inside of you? How does it feel to be haunted by the ones who will never see the one who never cared for them? Does it feel good for something devoid of emotion like you are?" Ione retaliated with his sentence. Clenched their right hand into a fist. However their optical drive emitted no laser.

"You haunt, you kill, and you never seem to just be silent for once and let the ones above you take care of this universe... grossly incompetent, naive and deservedly destined to fail and disappoint others..just like your old self did... Hana..." His tone became ever more angry. Rain continued to drip onto his helm. Blurring his laser.

"Like I still am Hana, that was a name of an innocent girl of whom you helped destroy her realm for a blade that will be found between your robotic skulls..." Their eyes flared "is that how you want it to end?" Ione retaliated with his remarks. Slowly drawing their blade.

"Ione, this doesn't have to end like this, we can come up with an agreement!" Toshiko said worried about their life long friend. Attempting to stop them with a simple hug.

Kalmigh drawed his blade from the distance, his visor covering his robotic face.

"With that monster?" They grabbed their hilt fully, "No." Ione's voice dropped fully, their optical drive emmited a faint violet.

"You promised me that you would trust me..." Toshiko said with a saddened voice. A tear went underneath her visor. She let go of her hug.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." Ione's voice saddened with the realization of what they had done to her. But it was too late now, for now they face their worst enemy, Kalmigh Omarav. They look back towards him.

"Kore de owaridesu! (This is the end for you!)" They shouted and drew their blade quickly.

"Sodan keyin körsetiñiz! (Then show it!)" He kicked up his blade into a fighting stance.

Ione dashed towards him, violet lightning followed them with a powerful boom.

He dashed right back towards them, a black and gold lightning followed him.

A powerful metal clash boomed through the ruined town. Sparks flew through the air.

Dashing towards a Minka, they jump off perfectly and line their blade up to cut his helm in half, their posture being a perfect swing.

Noticing quickly he drew his blade up, putting both hands on it to protect him.

With a powerful swing they hit down onto his blade, a horrible metal clash boomed into both their sensors, temporarily messing both of their modules.

Kalmigh's superior armor rebooted faster, with the sudden time frame for him he quickly punched towards their armor.

Their armor shattered with ease, their entire chestplate was gone and shattered into fragments and they were launched towards the town center.

With a sudden reboot they are reawakened, quickly noticing their armor is essentially gone and they are on the ground face up.

"MO SHINU! (DIE ALREADY!)" they roared towards him, their shattered armor leaking a deep violet as if it were blood.

Quickly jumping up with their ligaments powering up. A deep violet flared up all over their armor.

Kalmigh's armor mimicked theirs, his however glew a deep dark gold. Turning around be attempted to do a swift strike.

With a sweeping kick they brought his body down in a jarringly fast move to counter him. His body thumped on the ground with metallic clashes. His sensors went haywire.

Stomping towards him they smash his right thigh powerfully, the shattered armor sprayed off his leg.

They quickly jabbed their blade into his throat.

Ione stomps their way towards his arm. His body still rebooting quickly.

They grounded their body to help with their attemt to rip his left arm out, it only budged just a bit.

Quickly rebooting his armor flared up as well, his sensors immediately detected them.

He quickly ripped the arm away and anchored his arms on the ground and performed a sweeping kick.

Their body quickly tripped and fell through the air, their arms spread out mid air.

With a sudden jump he swung his fist toward their helm fast as lightning. His gold and black gold followed though.

The sounds of glass shattering roared through the ruins, their visor cracking into an uncountable amount of fragments. Their face only being a simulacrum of who they used to be.

"Incompetent and stupid... how pathetic..." he remarked after defeating them, lowering his guard.

He took a quick glance over his armor and did a quick reboot to help his modules repair. His shoulders lowered temporary.

Soaring through the air a naganata flew towards him with his guard lowered.

The Naganata pierced right through his chest, making his reboot suddenly stop. His sensors went haywire.

He hastily looked towards the direction where it was launched from. His shoulders immediately raised and he drew his blade.

With a sudden realization he seen Toshiko flying at him with a drop kick, it was already too late, a fatal mistake.

His body dropped down the moment her drop kick landed on his helm.

With a quick shatter Toshiko grabbed him by his scarf angrily with her left hand. Pulling him up without relent.

She quickly punched his diamond helm without relent, shattering his visor and his optical drives.

With the new dent she ripped out his main module, sparks flew through the air, and crushed it relentlessly.

She grabbed her naganata out of his chest ruthlessly dragging his body to the ground.

With a stomp she shattered his entire helm fully. His helm shattered wretchedly over the ground. Stomping powerfully enough to leave a dent in the dirt.

After that she rushed towards Ione, dropping her naganata to the side to help her more.

She slid down towards them. Her nobushi armor was traced with a crimson glow.

"Hey it's going to be okay, I won this battle for you, worry not about me, for you have suffered far more injuries." She hastily said, her tone having residual anger flowing through her, her hands shaking a bit.

"Well it's not like I can recover from these mistakes, take care for this blade would you please dear friend? Thank you for doing so well." Ione said calmly, their voice modules breaking down in the process. Their armor leaking more violet.

"A-As you wish Ione, I will do my best to protect it from the others." She stuttered, still her anxiety slowly took over. She reached towards Ione.

"This is the first time you seen me like this, worry not, I'll return in a short time, I don't like leaving you alone... especially with these monsters you just defeated, alas, here is the blade, take care, and do as you wish with this broken vessel... far vel felagi. (goodbye friend.)" They said calmly trying to ease them. They took their blade from their seathe with ease and handed it to Toshiko with both their hands on the blade. Their visor glitching in the process.

She reached towards to the blade, retracting her hand once before grabbing it's nightmarish handle, her body shook with fear and anxiety.

"You've done well, be proud." Ione's voice broke down, their visor glitched relentlessly, their body grew limp. Their arms dropped down. The violet glow disappeared from their armor, their modules whirled down.

Her tears slipped down her face, her lips whimpered a bit, her body grew slightly weaker. She hugged the old vessel with empathy. Hugging it closely and with care.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry I couldn't save you faster, I was scared for you so badly, I hate the fact that you don't trust me but please! Please trust me when I say this, I don't want you wasting your life killing nightmares, I want you to be so happy and content with life to be able to spend life with our friends. I hate seeing you die like this every time when I am simply to late, I want to redeem myself, and please trust me when you do!" She wailed to the dead voxel, crying onto it's shoulder, her visor his her face. She continued to hug the voxel.

"Please trust me, I would do anything for you to trust me old salor. And whatever I've done for you to not trust me, please trust me, I did it all for love, friendship, and comradeship. And I'll do it all again. Just please?" She continued to wail onto their voxel. Rain continued to pour down on the old street they first met at. It filled her with old memories that only enhanced the feeling of this wretched dread.

Fog filled the distant landscape, hiding her within this wretched but wonderful place. The buildings all having the dreaded symbol of the hellish Vega, the ones who started this all.

"Alas, you can't hear this, I'm sorry, but for now, I must leave your beautiful voxel behind, kono karada ga yasuraka ni nemurimasu yō ni. (May this body rest with ease.)" She said depressed, her tone sightly lifted.

With a slight reluctance she removed her visor, her face being shown for once, and she kissed the voxel's forehead, avoiding the shattered glass and metal.

She quickly put her visor back on and released their body with reluctance, placing them gently onto the moist ground, their armor being so intelligent in her eyes, just like they were to her.

She took one last glance at their voxel and grabbed her naganata back into her hands.

With rain pouring down and the fog retreating, this was the best time to leave their voxel being to return to her friends.

She began to run down the city street, the rain concealed her once more, perhaps this time, they will do a promise.
