Chapter 1
This is a teaser for a book I am currently working on. I will most likely start publishing chapters as soon as I have the time to separate the novel into them. When it is published, please keep in mind that it is a work in progress and I am only publishing here so I can get public opinion and gain publicity for my novel that I hope to publish eventually.

"If only we had known"
The doors covering every inch of the never ending winding hallway seemingly shuddered with every cough the dark figure walking down it hacked out. The creature’s wings trembled as he held a coal black- clawed hand up to his mouth, wheezing while a violet substance came out of his tressed, Cheshire smile. He kept one of his arms wrapped around his waist as he stumbled down the hall, the alarm on his pocket watch going off at a steady pace. Once he found that the hacking fit wouldn’t be coming to a stop any time soon, he stopped, swaying in the middle of the dark hall… He just had to wait for this fit to be over, it would be over soon. He crumpled to a heap on the floor, black and purple feathered wings splayed around him. He wouldn’t go and let his siblings see him like this. Not yet. The tears would mend and everything would be fine again. Everything would g o back to normal.
The being cringed as a presence prodded at his mind, trying to take the front and gently remind him that they were still there. However, he pushed the feeling away, ignoring it as the coughing came to a stop and he pulled out a purple handkerchief from his pocket, wiping his mouth and hands of the violet blood. “ Not now, Wish.” He muttered, seemingly as if he were having a conversation with someone.
He cleared his throat as the sensation went away, almost like a scorned child. Humming, he shoved the bloodied handkerchief back in his pocket and instead grabbed the gold stop watch from it. Flipping open the intricately carved cover, he checked the time with a sigh and started to rush down the hall. He kept his eyes in front of him, despite the fact that with every footstep a violet star like ripple effect sounded through the floor, trailing him as he made his way towards a mangled pink door with many eyes covering its surface. His siblings would be waiting for him. He couldn’t be away for too long. Things would certainly go to hell then.

I would appreciate all feedback as I need as much help as I can get. I am not the greatest writer but I hope to grow on this app with the help of everyone who reads this. I kept the teaser short and sweet as to not spoil anything. Since most of my "chapters" will be slightly short I will do my best to try and upload everyday as well as write some every day. Keeping the audience engaged is one of the hardest parts about this so it is one of my biggest priorities as of now.
